It has been 10 years since the New York Times announced the end of winter in the Northeast US, and the arrival of Magnolia trees in central Maryland. They tied this to the demise of Polar Bears, disappearing Arctic sea ice and global warming.

Here is a big old Magnolia tree at Marilyn DiReggi’s Civil War era house in northern Maryland (which Montgomery County is still attempting to steal.) I’m pretty sure the tree didn’t just arrive there.

It is Arctic cold in Maryland and they are expecting more than two feet of snow this week.

There has been no change in winter temperatures in the Northeast over the past 120 years, with last January-March being the coldest on record. Winter temperatures peaked in the 1950s.

Polar Bear populations are up 10% to record highs since that story was written.

And there has been no change in Arctic sea ice area over the past decade.

Last night Martin O’Malley announced that “Democrats believe in science” right before he said that “we” can make the electrical grid 100% wind and solar by the year 2050. I’m not sure who “we” is, but I am pretty sure that the sun doesn’t shine at night and that the wind doesn’t blow all the time. Only a complete, utter moron would base the grid off of intermittent low intensity energy sources.

In 2008, science believer Robert Kennedy Jr. blamed the demise of Virginia snowfall on Sarah Palin.

In Virginia, the weather also has changed dramatically. Recently arrived residents in the northern suburbs, accustomed to today’s anemic winters, might find it astonishing to learn that there were once ski runs on Ballantrae Hill in McLean, with a rope tow and local ski club. Snow is so scarce today that most Virginia children probably don’t own a sled. But neighbors came to our home at Hickory Hill nearly every winter weekend to ride saucers and Flexible Flyers.

When he was born in the 1950’s there was very little snow, but a sharp drop in temperatures from 1955 to 1960 led to a large increase in snowfall in the 1960’s – which is what he remembers. Since then, DC area snowfall has returned to normal levels.

Washington DC is facing  the possibility of a monster snowstorm later this week, with my favorite cycling destination right in the middle of it.

There has been no long term trend in temperatures or snowfall around DC, and also no change in the frequency of hot days.

Democrats confuse science with superstition.  They refuse to look at facts, and instead rely on their own echo chamber propaganda as the basis of their beliefs.

The climate mafia has enlisted these two handsome gentlemen to discredit satellite temperatures. Neither of them knows anything about the topic, but their specialties are talking climate trash for cash – so they were perfect for the job.

Satellites are a problem for the climate mafia, because they show just how bad recent surface temperature fraud is.

The claim from the climate clowns is that satellite temperatures have to be adjusted for error, unlike surface temperatures which they say “hardly need to be adjusted.“

They do have just one minor problem however. The 1995 IPCC report, authored by none other than NOAA’s own Tom Karl, showed that satellite temperatures matched NOAA balloon data, and that neither showed any warming since 1979.

There is no legitimate basis for disputing the satellite temperatures. This is just one more layer of fraud piled on by the usual clowns.

China’s leadership is more than happy to play along with Barack Obama’s efforts to wreck the US economy – but it has nothing to do with climate.

In 1988, NASA’s James Hansen predicted 1.3C warming above 1960 by the year 2015, under his “Business as Usual” Scenario A, with exponential growth after the year 2000.

Instead of what Hansen predicted, NASA temperatures nearly flatlined after 2002, and are tracking Hansen’s zero emissions after the year 2000 Scenario C.

Even after all their data tampering, NASA still shows the hiatus. And more importantly they show that increasing CO2 has had no detectable effect on the global temperature. Temperatures are where Hansen expected them to be without any increase in atmospheric CO2.

January 1937 was the coldest on record west of the Mississippi River, and the warmest on record east of the Mississippi. If this happened now, Bernie Sanders would call for immediate global communism to alter the jet stream.

To make matters even more disconcerting to climate experts, this climate change horror came less than a year after one of the coldest Februaries on record in 1936.
