Learning To Be A Climate Expert

If you are a climate expert working for a US government agency, this is “record low ice extent, which peaked a month ago.”

If you are a climate expert working for a US government agency, this is a dangerous warming trend – with last year being the hottest ever.

Only one skill is required to be a government climate expert – the willingness to lie to push the White House agenda.

They Missed One

We saw this Bald Eagle while canoeing this evening. The local wind farm operators are no doubt upset that one got away from them.

I spent the day cycling, canoeing, and enjoying family and friends. The world looks perfect to me. Greens imagine that it is falling apart.

A Tale Of Two Cities

I split my time between two liberal Democratic cities – Fort Collins, CO and Columbia, MD. Both cities have excellent bike trails*, and the cities were specifically set up to encourage healthy, environmentally friendly lifestyles. The bike trails are the main reason I choose to live in those cities.

In Fort Collins, it has been a huge success. Fort Collins is probably the fittest city on the planet, and the bike trails are constantly packed with cyclists. Columbia on the other hand has very low usage of the trails, and no one would accuse the population of being fit.

So what’s the difference? I don’t know.

* The bike trails in Fort Collins are largely due to the efforts of climate skeptic Dr. Bill Gray’s late wife, who was the very liberal Democratic mayor during the 1980’s.

Great Lakes Ice Growing Over The Past 10 Days

Scientists were concerned that the Great Lakes might become ice-free this summer – devastating the Michigan Polar Bear population.

The good news is that ice coverage continues to grow as spring progresses.

Meanwhile, experts continue to focus on lying about the extent of Arctic sea ice, which is also increasing.

Gallup Poll Shows That Very Few Intelligent People Buy Into The Global Warming Scam

Obama says that 97% of scientists believe his scam, because he doesn’t know the difference between 97% and 11%. Easy mistake.

My Earth Hour

ScreenHunter_1360 Mar. 28 17.49

I plan to spend Earth Hour lamenting the warm weather here in Fort Collins.

We are going canoeing by moonlight during Earth Hour and plan to use no fossil fuels- other than those which were used to make the canoe, the paddles, our clothing, the food we ate, our drinks, the glasses, the electricity powering our phones and wireless network, and those which were used to construct the dam.

The primary purpose of Earth Hour is to demonstrate that progressives can’t do without fossil fuels for more than a few minutes.

Peak Oil

Two old women sitting in the restaurant.

“The soup here, it’s poison! ”
“And such small portions too”

If climate alarmists believe we are about to run out of oil, what are they upset about? Isn’t that what they say they want?

Why are they spending so much energy attacking people who are calling out their scam?

Three Years Since Obama Said Drilling Won’t Lower Gas Prices

February 23, 2012

Anybody who tells you we can drill our way out of this problem doesn’t know what they’re talking about, or just isn’t telling you the truth,” he said to whoops from the crowd of nearly 1,500.

Mr. Obama’s remarks, tinged with humor and sarcasm, were bluntly political, on a trip that included fund-raising events in Miami and Orlando. But his message was sober: neither he nor anyone else can do much about oil prices, which he said were likely to keep rising.

Tesla Founder Says That Keeping Billions Of People Alive Is A “Dumb Experiment”

If we don’t find a solution to burning oil for transport, when we then run out of oil, the economy will collapse and society will come to an end,” Musk said this week during a conversation with astrophysicist and Cosmos host Neil deGrasse Tyson.

“If we know we have to get off oil no matter what, we know that is an inescapable outcome, why run this crazy experiment of changing the chemical composition of the atmosphere and oceans by adding enormous amounts of CO2 that have been buried since the Precambrian Era?” he added. “That’s crazy. That’s the dumbest experiment in history, by far.”

Tyson sounded surprised: “Can you think of a dumber experiment?” he asked Musk.

I honestly cannot. What good could possibly come of [staying on oil],” Musk said.

Elon Musk: Burning Fossil Fuels Is the ‘Dumbest Experiment in History, By Far’ | Motherboard

The implication of his statement is that modern civilization exists because of oil. Musk believes that keeping billions of people alive and preventing a collapse of the economy was/is a “dumb experiment” – because we have added 0.0001 mole fraction CO2 to the atmosphere, which he describes as a “huge amount.”

In other words, he wants to make $billions by scaring people into buying electric cars.

As far as his foray into geology goes – plants didn’t even evolve until much later than the Precambrian. Most oil and coal is extracted from Carboniferous Era formations.

We have vast amounts of oil and gas remaining. On days when alarmists aren’t crying about peak oil, they are crying about vast reserves of shale oil, coal and methane hydrates.
