Barack Obama has been dumping crap on America for six years, but after getting comprehensively thrashed in November and facing a Congress comprised of people who are sick of his subversion, he has finally proposed a constructive idea.

Why didn’t he do this six years ago?

On January 8, 1998 the low temperature in Laurel, MD was 58F. This year it is 6F. A cooling of 52 degrees over the last 17 years. The last two years have been among the coldest on record.

I expanded the RSS TLT temperature analysis to cover 25 randomly chosen grid cells. Australia has had many warmer years, and is no warmer now than it was 35 years ago.

January 8 minimum temperatures in Maryland have been dropping since 1895, with 2013 and 2014 being the first pair of consecutive years below 0F. It also appears that today will have the coldest January 8 afternoon on record in Maryland.

If the Republican leadership had any brains, they would seize the initiative about shutting down Obama’s dictatorship.

1. Make clear they will not put up with it
2. Make clear that his executive actions are illegal
3. Make clear weeks in advance that they will fully fund DHS, but will not fund Obama’s illegal immigration action
4. Make clear that it is Obama refusing to sign the DHS funding bill, and thus shutting down DHS

Of course they won’t do any of this, will allow Obama to blame them, and will ultimately cave. Like they always do.  They are a bunch of amateur hacks.
