The ratio of very cold days to very hot days in the US in 2014 (so far) is second highest in a century. Only 1982, which was cooled by the eruption of El Chichon, had a higher ratio. Looking at the weather forecast, 2014 may finish in the #1 spot.

My electricity bill is up this month, because I have been working a lot from home with two extra computers running. I’ve been in the apartment six months, and haven’t turned on the heat or the air conditioning once. Current temperature is 58 degrees inside, and I am hot.

I am wearing two very nice wool sweaters I got at the thrift shop for a total of less than $10, $5 wool socks, and a $3 knit cap which the local gangsta kids try to take from me when I am riding my bicycle. (Good luck with that.)

If I didn’t have to drive to work, my Maryland gasoline bill would be close to $0.

It is amazing how left wing politicians can recycle the same garbage from one generation to the next, by simply switching one word cooling => warming.

I used RRTM LW (the model Trenberth uses) to calculate the effects of increasing CO2 on downwelling longwave radiation, due to the greenhouse effect.

As you can see, the effect of increasing CO2 is minuscule.

President Barack Obama has committed the US to a huge reduction in fossil fuels usage. A good place to start would be New York – which loves Obama and uses 3,500,000,000,000,000 BTU’s of energy every year. A whopping five percent of their energy is from “renewables” – most of which is hydroelectric.

Power companies should immediately reduce New York’s supply of energy by 20%, and turn them into the good citizens of the world which they long to be.
