Besides the fact that have strange stars and their toilets flush the wrong direction, Australian temperatures are out of phase with US temperatures. Australia cooled from 1880 to 1950, and has been warming ever since. The US pattern is basically opposite that.

One of the causes of this is the eccentricity of the Earth’s orbit, which affects the length and intensity of seasons. Earth is currently closest to the Sun during January, which causes a short, intense summer in Australia, and a long, less intense summer in the US when the planet is furthest from the sun.

What other factors cause this phase relationship? Enquiring minds want to know.

Dr. Bill Gray from CSU correctly predicted the hiatus 20 years ago, and was rewarded by VP Al Gore by having his long-time NOAA funding cut off.

Bill’s reward for extreme competence and forecasting accuracy, was to be ostracized by the climate science community and have his funding cut off by Al Gore.  (Meanwhile, people like James Hansen have received huge amounts of funding and acclaim for spreading junk science and disastrously poor predictions.)

Bill Gray is a man of unwavering principle, and has self-funded his efforts to get the truth out about global warming for decades. Bill’s wife Nancy (who passed away in 2001) was mayor of Fort Collins in the early 1980’s, and was largely responsible for setting up the great set of bike trails which I use several times every day when I am in Fort Collins.

Mark Serreze continues to claim that the satellite record began in 1979, which he knows isn’t true. NSIDC has satellite data for Arctic ice going back to the 1960’s.

The 1990 IPCC report had satellite data going back to the early 1970’s, which shows that 1979 was right at the peak, and two million km² higher than 1974- meaning that current ice extent is about the same as 1974

1979  was the coldest year on record in the eastern Arctic. Starting graphs in 1979 without prominent disclaimers that it is a cherry-picked, misleading year – is blatant malpractice.

The sea level guys apparently were jealous over the amount of data tampering which the temperature guys get to do, so one day in 2012 they increased Envisat sea level rise from 0.466 mm/year to 2.33 mm/year.

But 2.33 mm.year still wasn’t up to alarmist standards, so they chucked the satellite, added the 100% fraudulent GIA, and declared sea level rise to be 3.2 mm.year
