No Long Term Warming At A Semi-Rural Station In Queensland
The Richmond Post Office thermometer is close to several roads, but better than most. It shows that afternoon temperatures peaked in the early part of the 20th century, and have generally been declining ever since.

Arctic Sea Ice Is The Same Thickness As 1940
According to figures from the University of Washington and the University of Illinois, Arctic ice thickness is averaging a little over two metres, down from a little over three metres in 1979.
In 1940, it was reported that Arctic sea ice thickness was two metres, down from three metres in 1900. In other words, the past 35 years have been a repeat of the early part of the century
23 Feb 1940 – THE NORTH POLE. Is it Getting Warmer. | BUNDABER…
By 1958, scientists reported a 50% reduction in volume – and predicted an ice-free Arctic in the next generation.

Bottom line is that the Arctic is cyclical, forecasts by Arctic experts are cyclical, they have absolutely no clue what they are talking about – and never did.
The most important thing to note is that starting graphs at the peak year of 1979 without bold warnings or disclaimers, is scientific malfeasance. Based on my reading, I would estimate that ice thickness has done something like this since 1940.

Visit With A Hero
I am in Fort Collins this week and had dinner with one of my heroes last night, Bill Gray.
“The greatest scientists in history are great, precisely because they broke with the consensus.”
—Michael Crichton
Yesterday it rained all day and got up to a blistering 59 degrees F. Currently a sweltering 47F.
Some of the global warming devastation I experienced this week is pictured below. The CSU campus has been hit particularly hard.

Really Bad Astronomy
Phil Plait is up to his usual mendacity in the Arctic
Global warming denial: Claims of Arctic ice recovering are exaggerated.
According to the University of Washington, Arctic sea ice volume is up 27% from last year, and 64% since 2012.
If those numbers were reversed, Plait would be consider them the most important topic on Earth. As they are, he chooses to ignore them.

The Heartbreak of 2012
Climate experts really thought they were on to something for a few weeks in 2012.
In a few years they will be mumbling incoherently to themselves in the retirement home, something about deniers just don’t understand long-term trends.

13 Years Later, Progressive Geniuses Figure Out That They Don’t Want An Islamic State After All
NEWPORT, Wales — The United States and key allies agreed Friday to take on the marauding Islamic State militant group by squeezing its financial resources and going after it with military might.
President Barack Obama outlined a coordinated military strategy that echoes the war on terror first developed by his predecessor, George W. Bush, more than a decade ago.

A Long Term Semi-Rural Station In Victoria
The station at Nhill, Australia is in farm country on the edge of town – about 50 metres from a road. It shows temperatures were hotter during some years in the early 20th century, and no general trend in maximum temperature.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong At Streaky Bay, SA?
Streaky Bay, SA shows warming over the past century. And like most other Australia stations, the GHCN data prior to 1957 is missing.
The thermometer is close to the Bay.
And Google Earth shows it right in the middle of a jungle of asphalt and buildings.
