That straw man offer is worthless, but I am going to go way past Keating’s offer and give people the opportunity to win one hundred trillion dollars – by simply proving any one of these five statements made by actual climate authorities.

My previous animation of GISS US temperatures wasn’t quite right. What I had labeled as the 1999 version, was actually the 2000 version. The animation below shows the actual 1999 version.

As of 1999, 1998 was the fifth hottest year after 1934, 1921, 1931 and 1953. By 2000, it had been promoted to third hottest. B 2001, it had been promoted to the second hottest year, and by 2012 it was the hottest year.

An impressive demonstration of continuous and ongoing tampering – to create the impression of a non-existent warming trend.

Note the strong cooling trend which NASA showed in the 1999 version, and has since completely been erased.

I put out a general offer to debate about a week ago, and so far no takers.

My critics prefer to create a fact-free straw man image of me (stupid birther on the Koch payroll) and then bravely attack the straw man from afar.

Politifact and MediaMatters refuse to print a single word I actually wrote, and never contact me to rebut the idiotic claims they publish about my work. Polifact and Media Matters are complete frauds – pushing a political agenda with no interest in actual facts.

A couple of weeks ago reader NikFromNYC declared this blog to be dead, because I didn’t censor differing viewpoints, and was butting heads with the orthodoxy on both sides of the debate.

Today marks the fourth day in the last ten with more than 50,000 page views, and today will finish with close to 200,000 page views.

Apparently there are a large number of people hungry for actual facts.

Report Warns of a Much Warmer Northeast

People in Philadelphia would swelter through as many as 30 days with temperatures higher than 100 degrees each summer.The Northeastern ski industry, except for western Maine, would probably go out of business. And spruce and hemlock forests — as well as songbirds such as the Baltimore oriole — would all but disappear from New Jersey to the Canadian border.

These are among the conclusions of a two-year study by the public interest group Union of Concerned Scientists on the effects of global warming in the Northeast if current greenhouse gas emission patterns worldwide continue unabated. Winters would be on average 8 to 12 degrees higher by the end of the century, and summers 6 to 14 degrees higher.

Report Warns of a Much Warmer Northeast

The frequency of 100 degree days in Pennsylvania has dropped dramatically since the 1930’s, and is consistently much lower now than it was prior to 1940. The eight years from 2003 to 2010 had no 100 degree days, which was the longest such period in a century.

The claims of large temperature increases have no scientific basis whatsoever. I have done software development of radiative transfer models (the models which calculate the greenhouse effect) for the US government, and they provide no indication of large temperature increases in the future due to increasing CO2.

The Union of Concerned Scientists is simply making “facts” up.

Since 1967, North American winter snow extent has been increasing, with many recent years being in the top twenty. The only reasonable explanation for this is that cold Arctic air is pushing further south into the United States during winter, causing snow to fall and remain on the ground further south than it did 50 years ago. During warm winters, the snow line moves further north. During cold winters, the snow line moves further south – i.e. greater extent. Canada is always covered with snow during winter.

Adjusted NCDC US winter temperatures show that the US is getting warmer during winter since 1967, which is at odds with the snow data

NCDC adjusts recent US winter temperatures upwards by 1.6ºF relative to the early 1970s. As always, they cool the past and warm the present to create the appearance of non-existent warming.

This leaves only two realistic possibilities.

1. The freezing point of water has changed since 1967
2. US winters are getting colder, and the NCDC adjustments are complete garbage.

For many years back we have witnessed a noticeable climatic change in   our winters in England, Scotland, and Northern Europe generally, together with reports of a similar character from America. As an instance of the former, during the present December a rare variety of  spring sights and sounds are reported.   With the thermometer often up to 50 deg., “partridges had practically commenced to pair” and “the rooks were busy repairing their old nests.” Fresh and succulent grass has grown as in spring, and cattle have been turned out.  “to enjoy both the weather and the food.” A second group of flies are seen here and there, and often a cloud of gnats may be witnessed doing their vertical war-dance, while in more than one instance the bees—water scouts— have been busy. To the gardener these observations are unnecessary—he sees the facts daily. In New York during the present month the temperature rose to 60 deg., which is a record, 59deg. being registered in 1873. The underground railways registered 70 deg. This heat wave  was general throughout the eastern States. “In Boston trees are budding in the parks, and on the Berkshire  Hills, with the mercury showing 70deg., the maple sap is running as it does in spring-time.”

Climate alarmists simply can’t stand any good news like no warming for 18 years or global sea ice above normal for the last two years. They get very angry when presented with any good news, and have all sorts of defense mechanisms to block any good news out.

This is because their concern has nothing to do with climate, but rather their personal agenda which depends on others being neurotic about “climate change.”
