NOAA shows that summer 2012 had the second hottest afternoons in US history, just behind 1936.

This is complete nonsense. The graph below plots the average summer maximum temperature at all US HCN stations which have been continuously operative since at least 1930. Summer, 2012 wasn’t in the top five, and was more than two degrees cooler than 1936.

As far as number of hot days go, summer 2012 didn’t even rank in the top ten for number of 95 degree temperature readings.

Birthers are defined as believers in a “crackpot conspiracy theory claiming that Obama was born in Kenya.“

The first well documented birthers are from 1991, when Obama’s literary agents promoted him as being born in Kenya.

Over the next 17 years, he was continuously being promoted as Kenyan born, by the birthers who made him rich. Of course, no one Obama knew noticed this mistake over the course of 17 years.

When Obama became US Senator from Illinois in 1994 under predictably suspicious circumstances, one of Kenya’s leading birther newspapers proudly bragged about their Kenyan-born native son.

During the 2008 campaign, Hillary Clinton’s birther staff were pushing Obama’s Kenyan birth, and then again on election eve in 2008 one of Nigeria’s leading birther newspapers boasted about their African born candidate.

We don’t know if the person who filled out Obama’s college paperwork was also a birther, because he refuses to release any of it. Obama says that it is legal to spy on every other public and private communication in the US, but would be illegal to release his college documents.

Don’t be a birther! Only Obama’s close friends and associates are allowed to be that.

This led to two successful recall elections, and a third in progress which would have swung power back to the Republican Party – and permitted the citizens of Colorado to regain control of their state.

Demokrats predictably responded by thwarting the will of  “WE THE PEOPLE” yet again.

Colorado Democratic state Sen. Evie Hudak, the third legislator facing the prospect of a recall for her support of tough new gun control laws, resigned on Wednesday rather than risk losing her seat in a special election.

Had that happened, power in the state senate would have shifted to the Republican Party. With Hudak’s resignation, however, Democrats can appoint her successor and hold onto a one-seat majority.

“Most Coloradans believe that going through a background check is a reasonable thing to do if it means we can keep guns out of the hands of violent criminals,” she wrote.

We have had background checks for decades. The FBI has performed more than 100 million of them. If the majority supports her, why is she resigning to avoid an election? How slimy and disgusting can people get?

NSIDC cleverly starts their graphs in 1978, the year of peak Arctic ice. This creates the impression that there is a linear downwards trend.

What NSIDC is hiding is that there were satellite measurements much earlier than 1978, which showed that 1978 was the peak ice extent. The graph below is from the 1995 IPCC report. I added the red circle to show NSIDC’s misleading start date.

Note that 1974 had about the same anomaly as the current value (top graph) indicating that there has been no long term change in Arctic sea ice extent through the entire satellite record.

Most people who made it past high school would understand that you can’t claim a linear trend based on a plot of one leg of a cyclical function.

It has been 25 years since Hansen predicted the demise of polar sea ice. Gaia has celebrated the date by producing the most polar sea ice in the last 25 years.

Look for the world’s top climate experts to blame the cold weather in the US and Europe on missing sea ice.
