This has also been the wettest YTD in Boulder, just surpassing the previous  flood year in 1995. I was living in Boulder in May, 1995 when we were one thunderstorm shy of a huge flood. The forecast storm missed Boulder by a few miles that afternoon.

The weather station at Fort Collins is located on the CSU campus, and hasn’t moved for over a hundred years. Unlike most of the US, it shows a strong increase in the number of record maximums, and a strong decrease in record minimums.

The weather station started out in the middle of a farm, and is now in the middle of a very busy parking lot and bus terminal.

By 1969, the city had surrounded the weather station.

Now it is in the middle of a parking lot.

It must be the CO2.

Fort Collins has already received 67 inches of snow this year, the most ever recorded for the date. January-September snowfall has increased by 40% since the 1890s.

Meteorologist Joe Bastardi in his Saturday Summary at the 7-minute mark looks at the latest NCEP NCAR global winter forecast for 2013/14. The charts point to another “brutal winter for Europe.” The forecast sees blocking and a negative NAO. Joe also tweeted that “SST analog package combined with low solar, and climate cycle (similar to early 50s)  argue for nasty Euro Winter.”

Last year they blamed the brutal winter on missing Arctic ice. This year there has been a 60+% increase in Arctic ice.

The President of the US has repeatedly compared climate skeptics to Holocaust deniers, called them flat earthers, and said he has no patience for them. The Secretary of The Interior has said she doesn’t want any climate skeptics working for the government.

These sort of blatant, overt Stalinesque threats from the executive branch of government couldn’t possibly affect the outcome of government funded scientific research. Only a stupid conspiracy theorist would believe anything so ridiculous.

They might have learned this in school, except that their teachers were too busy teaching them about the dangers of CO2.
