The only forcing going on here is that NCDC is tampering with the data. They show July, 2012 as being the hottest.

But the actual thermometer data they use shows a completely different story. The animation below flashes between the measured and reported temperatures. Prior to NCDC tampering, July 2012 was fourth warmest after the low CO2 years of 1901, 1936 and 1934.

The next graph shows the magnitude of their data tampering. They chopped from 1.3 to 2.5 degrees off all of the hottest years, in support of their junk science hypothesis.
Hot summer weather and CO2 have nothing to do with each other. Even the EPA understands this.
Heat waves occurred with high frequency in the 1930s, and these remain the most severe heat waves in the U.S. historical record (see Figure 1). Many years of intense drought (the “Dust Bowl”) contributed to these heat waves by depleting soil moisture and reducing the moderating effects of evaporation.
• There is no clear trend over the entire period tracked by the index. Although it is hard to see in Figure 1 (because of the extreme events of the 1930s), heat wave frequency decreased in the 1960s and 1970s but has risen since then (see Figure 1).

Summers during the 1930s were much hotter than 2012, and NCDC is doing the country a great disservice by lying about this. CO2 and heatwaves show zero correlation.
