Assad : What Will The World Achieve From Supporting Terrorism In Syria?

President al-Assad: Before they vote, they should ask themselves a simple question: What have previous wars achieved for America, or even for Europe? What has the world achieved from the war in Libya and the spread of terrorism in its aftermath? What has the world achieved from the wars in Iraq and other places? What will the world achieve from supporting terrorism in Syria?

Members of congress are entrusted to serve in the best interests of their country. Before they vote, they need to weigh up their decision in the interests of their own country. It is not in the interests of the US to perpetuate instability and extremism in the Middle East. It is not in their interests to continue – what George Bush started – spreading wars in the world.

Too Smart To Debate

Stephen Hale: Global-warming skeptics equivalent of Flat Earth Society

I read with disappointment the Aug. 5 Commentary piece by Steve Goreham “(Why the climate models of global warming are wrong”) and the Aug. 22 one by Mike Stenhouse (“Climate alarms deny the reality in R.I.”).

The real question is not whether global climate change and destabilization by human-caused carbon dioxide emissions are happening (as accepted by 97 percent of the people who have the expertise to answer this question, the planet’s climate scientists).

His only piece of information is Cook’s fraudulent 97% number.

Instead, the question is why The Journal publishes commentary by climate change deniers such as Goreham and Stenhouse, with their usual statements that are often factually wrong and, rather than shed light on a complex topic, only serve to confuse the public. Why doesn’t The Journal give similar coverage to the Flat Earth Society?

Panetta : Chemical Weapons May Have Fallen Into The Hands Of Rebels

Panetta: We’ve Lost Track of Some Syrian Chemical Weapons

Friday, September 28, 2012

The U.S. has lost track of some of Syria’s chemical weapons, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Friday, and does not know if any potentially lethal chemicals have fallen into the hands of Syrian rebels or Iranian forces inside the country.

Syria’s chemical weapons are top concern for the U.S. and for regional allies worried that they could lbe stolen by rebels or terrorists organizations, or given to Iran for safekeeping.

If We Vaporized Pyongyang, Would It End Kim Jong Un’s Reign Of Terror?

After weathering a barrage of criticism from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Kerry turned the tables and demanded to know whether or not he believed that air strikes would make Assad more or less likely to use chemical weapons again.

“It’s unknown,” Paul replied.

Jabbing his finger, Kerry disagreed, saying it was guaranteed that Assad would use chemical weapons again if the U.S. doesn’t act.
