I am so tired of getting the same stupid comments about all-time record temperature counts.

The algorithm is :

1. Set the record to -99 degrees
2. Set the date to January 1
3. Start at the first year.
4. If the current year ties the record, add the year to the list
5. If the current year beats the record, empty the list, set the new record, add the year to the empty list
6. Increment the year – go to step 4
7. Repeat 1-6 for the other 365 days of the year

It makes no difference if the algorithm is run forwards or backwards, you always end up with the same list of one or more years which matched the all-time record. If a year was not the hottest in the entire time series, it doesn’t get a record.

Now please stop being morons about this. The 1930s were much more extreme. Deal with it.

President Obama told a bipartisan group of members of Congress today that he expects the U.S. would be actively involved in any military action against Libya for “days, not weeks,” after which he said the U.S. would take more of a supporting role, sources tell ABC News.

It went on for 26 weeks, killed dozens of civilians, and eventually led to the death of our ambassador and a massive cover up by Obama.

Now he says that he plans to bomb Syria for “a couple of days.”

The administration insisted Thursday that President Obama has both the authority and the determination to make his own decision on a military strike against Syria, even as a growing chorus of lawmakers demanded an opportunity to vote on the issue and Britain, the United States’ closest ally, appeared unlikely to participate.

Biden said in 2007 that any president who did what Obama is planning on doing should be impeached.

“I made it clear to the President,” a furious Biden declared, “that if he takes this nation to war without Congressional approval, I will make it my business to impeach him.  That is a fact.”

Obama said in 2007 that his planned actions are illegal.

The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

In 1936, there were 14,793 record maximums and minimums set at all 862 long-term US HCN stations. So far this year there have been only 2,903, and the trend is for a much less extreme climate in the US.

Note : A record is counted only if it is a record for the entire data set, from 1895-2013. If multiple years share the record, they all get counted.

Half of the population of Oklahoma fled the state during the 1930s to escape the heat and drought. The graph below shows why. There are 33 HCN stations which have been continuously active since at least 1930. During the summer of 1936, there were 268 110ºF temperatures recorded at those stations, or an average of almost nine per station. This year there were no 110ºF temperatures recorded.

NOAA has made all kinds of wildly fraudulent claims about Oklahoma, 2011 being the hottest summer ever in any state, but it didn’t rank in the top five – and wasn’t even in the same league as 1936.

South Dakota has recorded nine 100ºF readings this year at all HCN stations, compared to 683 in 1936. Eighty-seven percent of all 100ºF readings occurred with CO2 below 350 PPM.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.
