KUSA – heavy rain poured down on the Denver Metro area Thursday, flooding streets and highways.
The National Weather Service to issued a flash flood warning until 10:30 p.m. for western Arapahoe, north central Douglas and south central Denver counties.
Stationary thunderstorms dumped 2.87 inches of rain in some areas. The intersection of Alameda Avenue and Havana Street in Aurora was flooded as nearly one inch of rain fell in a 45 minute time period.
The US Drought Monitor showed today that Denver is having a severe drought.
