During the 1870s, society was plagued with climate alarmists imagining a change in climate – and claiming that every weather event was unprecedented. Exactly the same foolishness which we hear today.

We have often noticed that in the tabular statements of those compilers of weather records who write to the Times, useful and welcome as their communications are, every season is sure to be “extraordinary,” almost  every month one of the driest or wettest, or windiest, coldest or hottest, ever known. Much observation, which ought to correct a tendency to exaggerate, seems in some minds to have rather a tendency to increase it. And many seem now to regard three dry hot years in succession as betokening some general change of climate, as if it was not perfectly certain, in   the wide range of the table of what we call changes, that with our existing conditions of climate such a combination must every now and then recur.

13 May 1926 – CHANGING CLIMATE OF EUROPE. WINTER BECOMES WARMER.

The only difference is that now they say that CO2 makes winters colder in Germany.

With temperatures just above the freezing mark at mid-summer, the corn crop is really taking off.

Former Vice President Al Gore lamented today that scientists “will not let us link record-breaking” tornadoes in Oklahoma and elsewhere to climate change because of inadequate record keeping on the twisters.

“But when you put more energy into a system, it gets more energetic,” Gore said at an environmental event in Washington hosted by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse.

Records of tornadoes are quite adequate to show that the last two years have been the quietest on record for tornadoes.

First time I have  seen them forecast below freezing temperatures over the Arctic Ocean this time of year.

There’s something strange happening on Venus. Which would be worrying, but given that the surface of the second planet from our sun is a boiling hot mass of carbon dioxide, sulphuric acid clouds and vaporised oceans, there’s always something strange happening on Venus.

On the other hand, this time around it’s even stranger than normal.

According to the Space Research Institute in Moscow, the average cloud-top wind speed on the planet has risen from 186mph in 2006 to 249mph in 2012.

That’s a rise of more than 33% – and scientists aren’t sure why it’s happening.
