We have recently learned from climate experts that one day trends determine the climate, so I applied their latest wisdom to Arctic sea ice extent.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said Tuesday those who deny carbon dioxide emissions contribute to climate change are “one step short of insane.”

Proof of global warming in Denver.

Yesterday Denver hit 100 degrees, due to very strong downslope winds coming off the mountains. Normally the spring winds have stopped by now, but everything is running a few weeks late this year due to the long, cold winter.

These hot, dry winds also caused some fires. People build houses in pine forest which normally burns every dozen or so years, and surprisingly the houses burn down.

The Senate Intelligence Committee, whose chairman, Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), has defended the surveillance efforts, asked the NSA on Tuesday to publicly explain programs that use telephone and Internet records “so that we can talk about them, because I think they’re really helpful,” she said.

I have started taking a short timeout in my phone conversations to greet my NSA agent and make sure he feels welcome listening in on my conversations.

Hello Mr. NSA agent. How are you today? How is the weather in Maryland?

OK, you have a nice day!

I recommend that everybody do that. Spies are people too and they appreciate the kindness.

The Coalition will impose new noise monitoring rules on windfarms that the multibillion dollar industry says will inflict crippling costs, provide no useful information and represent another victory for an anti-noise campaign by concerned citizens backed in part by the climate sceptic lobby.

The yet-to-be-released resources policy is set to require all windfarms to provide “real-time” noise monitoring, with the findings immediately publicly available, so nearby residents concerned about the alleged health impact of windfarms can compare the results with strict state government noise controls. The Coalition resources spokesman, Ian Macfarlane, will also try to introduce the measures before the election with a private members bill.

People living close to windfarms have reported symptoms including headaches, sleeplessness and nausea.
