The latest theory is that CO2 steered Sandy into heavily Democratic states on the East Coast, causing Chris Christie to fall in love with Barack Obama.
Suppose for a minute that CO2 does steer hurricanes. Florida is experiencing their longest hurricane free period on record, so apparently they are being protected by CO2’s magical hurricane steering powers.
Perhaps CO2 should be named the patron saint of Florida?
COLORADO SPRINGS, Apri 30, 2013—Recall petition drives are well under way for four pro-gun control Democrats in the Colorado state legislature.
The four facing recall petitions are:
John Morse (Senate District 11; 7,178 valid signatures needed)
Angela Giron (Senate District 3; 11,285 valid signatures needed)
Evie Hudak (Senate District 19; 18,962 valid signatures needed)
Mike McLachlan (House District 59; 10,587 valid signatures needed)
In Colorado, the number of valid signatures needed is 25% of the total ballots cast in the election of the official being recalled. Petition gatherers usually get 25-40% more than necessary.
Sen. John Morse is the president of the senate and thus responsible for sheparding the gun bills through. He was famously shown on the Rachel Maddow TV show explaining how he told “his” senators to ignore the objections of their constituents and vote for the rights-restricting legislation.

California plans to confiscate guns from 20,000 people who bought them legally but have since been disqualified because of criminal or psychiatric problems, boosting the state’s relatively tough approach to gun control.

Governor Jerry Brown signed legislation on Wednesday allocating $24m – generated by fees taken from gun buyers at the time of purchase – to the crackdown, the first in a series of gun control bills following the Sandy Hook massacre.

Today was a unique day along the Front Range of Colorado. We have a foot of fresh snow on the ground, and cold deep blue skies like January – but what was unique is that the sun is up within 25 degrees of the zenith.

I have compiled a database of around 12,000 papers listed in the ‘Web Of Science’ between 1991 to 2011 matching the topic ‘global warming’ or ‘global climate change’. I am now inviting readers from a diverse range of climate blogs to peruse the abstracts of these climate papers with the purpose of estimating the level of consensus in the literature regarding the proposition that humans are causing global warming. The survey involves rating 10 randomly selected abstracts and is expected to take 15 minutes. Participant ratings are confidential and all data will be de-individuated in the final results so no individual ratings will be published.
