There are 829 US HCN stations which have been continuously active since at least 1920. The vast majority of them set their all-time record maximum prior to 1950. The past decade has had very little record heat.

The EPA also says that heatwaves used to be much worse.

From 1988 until a few years ago, a lot of multi-year ice was getting transported into the North Atlantic during the winter. This caused a large drop in the thickness of the ice.

What they don’t want to talk about is that this pattern has reversed. The amount of multi-year ice is increasing since 2008, and during this past winter almost all of it moved west towards the Beaufort Sea, where it will slow summer melt.

The climate moron community is all aflutter over NOAA’s report that global warming had nothing to do with last year’s drought.

If these imbeciles bothered to spend five minutes checking the data, they would know that the worst droughts occurred during the 1930s and 1950s, and that droughts have been becoming less severe over time.

Titley said that after the Navy asked him to look at climate change, he changed his mind about it, based on the preponderance of evidence from long-term models based on physics, which is very different from weather forecasting.

“I’ve told the Navy and Congress that we should expect a global sea rise between now and the year 2100 of about 1 meter,” Titley told a hall full of students and others Friday who attended the conference, called “Risk and Uncertainty and the Communication of Sea Level Rise.”

Lawmaker to investigate gun seizure

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – A state lawmaker is calling for an investigation into how an Amherst man’s guns were taken away by mistake.

State Assemblyman Ray Walter says when he saw the news coverage of David Lewis’ case, he knew immediately something was “seriously wrong.” Walter wants some answers, when he meets face-to-face with the State Police Superintendent in Albany next Tuesday.

Lewis’ attorney, Jim Tresmond, suspects investigators are using the SAFE Act, to pry into confidential medical records.

“We hear that there’s a special unit that’s been created to peruse the HIPAA reports,” Tresmond said.

Walter added, “Or else this was just a test case on the part of the Governor’s office, to see how far we could push this law. And I hope that’s not the case.”

State Supreme Court Judge William Boller has ordered Lewis’ pistol permit reinstated; once Lewis has it back, he can pick up his guns from Amherst Police.
