July 2012 didn’t even crack the top ten for number of July all-time daily record maximums. There were five times as many daily maximum temperature records in July, 1936 as there were in 2012
Since the beginning of the 1970s, the global temperature has risen strongly. However in the last 10-15 years the trend has flattened out considerably. Depending on the year used as a starting point, the trend is practically zero. This is what temperature curves from the different institutes show. Even when there are some slight variations between the curves, they all show the same pattern
The fact that the global temperature rise has stagnated does not contradict long-term climate change. To the contrary: Also in the future we have to anticipate short periods of stagnation or cooling. In principle, the science is not surprised by this finding. This is because such short-term temperature behavior also occurs in climate models (see chart). And that, by the way, in the same models that postulate an anthropogenic temperature increase over the long term.”
You can see this quite clearly in Hansen’s 1988 forecasts which show very rapid, steady warming after the year 2000.

There are 824 GHCN HCN stations which have been continuously active since at least 1920, The graph below shows how many of them set their all-time record maximum each year. As you can see, the US used to be much hotter, and the summer of 1936 was by far the hottest summer.
The constant barrage of misinformation coming from NOAA and elsewhere about the weather, seems to have lead a significant portion of the population to believe that all weather events are unprecedented – and due to something called “climate change.”
No one actually knows what climate change is, but it is something very bad and it is the fault of Republicans. For example, the beautiful weather last winter in the Eastern US was extreme and something we desperately need to correct, if only the Republican deniers would get out of the way.
I doubt that any of them have ever thought through how they would identify what they are trying to fix, how they would fix it, or how they would later determine if they had fixed it.
The bottom line is that the climate change religion is nothing more than a hate group – people who are looking to vent their anger. They would have been burning witches had they lived a few hundred years ago.
When I was eleven, I went through many of the NRA safety and marksmanship programs. I learned to respect rifles and be very safe with them, and I passed this knowledge on to my children.
If boys in the inner cities had the same opportunities to learn gun safety, they wouldn’t be behaving like a bunch of rabid wild animals killing each other.
Obama apparently only knows how to demonize people who think differently, instead of embracing diversity and the wisdom of others. He seems to think that the red counties are enemies – needless to say, a disturbing state of affairs.
The NRA knows infinitely more about guns and gun psychology than the White House. If Obama was using his brain, he would listen to the experts.

FONTANA, Calif. (AP) — The high-powered semiautomatic rifles recently shipped to school police in this Southern California city look like they belong on a battlefield rather than in a high school, but officials here say the weapons could help stop a massacre like the one that claimed the lives of 26 students and educators in Connecticut just weeks ago.
Fontana Unified School District police purchased 14 of the Colt LE6940 rifles last fall, and they were delivered the first week of December — a week before the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Over the holiday break, the district’s 14 school police officers received 40 hours of training on the rifles. Officers check them out for each shift from a fireproof safe in the police force’s main office.
Fontana isn’t the first district to try this. Other Southern California districts also have rifle programs — some that have been in operation for several years. Fontana school police Chief Billy Green said he used money from fingerprinting fees to purchase the guns for $14,000 after identifying a “critical vulnerability” in his force’s ability to protect students. The officers, who already wear sidearms, wouldn’t be able to stop a shooter like the one in Connecticut, he said Wednesday.
