2012: the year Britain’s weather turned dangerous | Environment | The Guardian

Perhaps 1607 was the year when Britain turned dangerous?

On 30 January 1607 the Bristol Channel floods resulted in the drowning of an estimated 2,000 or more people, with houses and villages swept away, an estimated 200 square miles (518 km2) of farmland inundated and livestock destroyed, wrecking the local economy along the coasts of the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary, in what was then the Kingdom of England.

Who Are The Killers?

The press corpse wants you to believe that scary looking NRA members who drive pickup trucks and Harleys and attend gun shows are going to come hurt you. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Rinks in Canada’s Arctic Turn to Cooling Systems

By JEFF Z. KLEIN Published: January 4, 2013

Winter has come to the vast, northernmost reaches of Canada, the sparsely populated area surrounding the Arctic Circle historically characterized by severely cold weather. But these days refrigeration systems are needed to keep the ice cold at hockey arenas.

It has been too warm for December hockey in the Arctic, the latest sign that climate change is altering the environment and the way people live — especially in the far north, where the effects of rising temperatures are most pronounced.

Fairbanks, Alaska averaged  -27C in December, and the center of the Greenland Ice Sheet averaged -40. You can play hockey in Southern New Mexico, but the New York Times tells us that it is too warm to play hockey in the Arctic.

Southwest US And Mexico Buried In Snow

A sure sign of global warming is when 80% of New Mexico is covered with snow.

National Snow Analyses – NOHRSC – The ultimate source for snow information

Overheated air from the rapidly melting Arctic travels south, and causes snow to fall in the tropics in Mexico. For lefties on crack, the logic is simple.

The Obama Animal Farm

In the Obama world, America haters are more equal than loyal Americans

The Washington Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) inquiry into whether NBC’s David Gregory possession on national TV of an illegal 30-round “high-capacity” magazine has been ongoing for three weeks. Meanwhile, U.S. Army veteran James Brinkley is still grappling with the fallout from his arrest last year on the same charge.

Mr. Brinkley’s story is just one example of at least 105 individuals who, unlike Mr. Gregory, were arrested in 2012 for having a magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds.

On Sept. 8, Mr. Brinkley says he intended to drop his wife and young children at the White House for a tour and then head to a shooting range to practice for the U.S. Marshals Service test. Just like Mr. Gregory, Mr. Brinkley called MPD in advance for guidance on how he could do this legally. Mr. Brinkley was told that the gun had to be unloaded and locked in the trunk, and he couldn’t park the car and walk around.

Unlike Mr. Gregory, Mr. Brinkley followed the police orders by placing his Glock 22 in a box with a big padlock in the trunk of his Dodge Charger. The two ordinary, 15-round magazines were not in the gun, and he did not have any ammunition with him.

As he was dropping off his family at 11 a.m. on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue, Mr. Brinkley stopped to ask a Secret Service officer whether his wife could take the baby’s car seat into the White House. The officer saw Mr. Brinkley had an empty holster, which kicked off a traffic stop that ended in a search of the Charger’s trunk. Mr. Brinkley was booked on two counts of “high capacity” magazine possession (these are ordinary magazines nearly everywhere else in the country) and one count of possessing an unregistered gun.

Despite the evidence Mr. Brinkley had been legally transporting the gun, his attorney Richard Gardiner said the D.C. Office of the Attorney General “wouldn’t drop it.” This is the same office now showing apparent reluctance to charge Mr. Gregory.

Mr. Brinkley refused to take a plea bargain and admit guilt, so the matter went to trial Dec. 4. The judge sided with Mr. Brinkley, saying he had met the burden of proof that he was legally transporting. Mr. Brinkley was found not guilty on all firearms-related charges, including for the “high-capacity” magazines, and he was left with a $50 traffic ticket.

How Obama/Feinstein Plan To End The Second Amendment

  • Step one – ban gun sales and demand registration of existing legal guns. They will call this reasonable and prudent.
  • Step two – later note that gun crime has increased since implementation of step one, and say that Americans simply can’t be trusted with guns
  • Step three – get one more radical leftie on the Supreme Court
  • Step four – ban and attempt to confiscate all guns owned by their political opposition

This is essentially the same strategy as was effectively used by their kindred souls in Russia and Germany during the early part of the last century.

NASA On Crack

WASHINGTON — Warm ocean currents attacking the underside of ice shelves are the dominant cause of recent ice loss from Antarctica, a new study using measurements from NASA’s Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat) revealed.

An international team of scientists used a combination of satellite measurements and models to differentiate between the two known causes of melting ice shelves: warm ocean currents thawing the underbelly of the floating extensions of ice sheets and warm air melting them from above. The finding, published today in the journal Nature, brings scientists a step closer to providing reliable projections of future sea level rise.

NASA – Warm Ocean Currents Cause Majority of Ice Loss from Antarctica

Sea ice around Antarctica has been increasing for more than three decades, and was above “normal” every day in 2012. NASA concludes that ocean currents (which they can’t model) are causing ice loss, and that they can predict future sea level rise based on this.

Thinking Like A Leftie

After Sandy hit and people in New York were freezing in the dark and unable to obtain fuel, Mayor Bloomberg called for restrictions on fossil fuels and higher prices.

After the massacre of defenseless adults and schoolchildren at a gun free zone in Sandy Hook, Mayor Bloomberg called for more gun-free zones full of defenseless adults and schoolchildren. The Journal News then published a complete list of all gun-free households in several counties, putting hundreds of thousands of people at risk.

These people are dangerously stupid and insane.
