Obamaphone As A Form Of Self Defense

At a Brady Center event, its Legal Action Project Director asked retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens whether having a right to a cell phone might be a more universal form of self-defense than gun ownership.

“Maybe you have some kind of constitutional right to have a cell phone with a pre-dialed 911 number at your bedside, and that might provide you with a little better protection than a gun, which you’re not used to using,” Justice Stevens mumbled.

Gun Ownership and People Power

Chicago has the highest murder rate in the country. Guns are illegal, but everyone in the inner city has an Obamaphone. When seconds matter, police are just twenty minutes away.

Des Moines Register Calls For Murder And Violence

“I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control,”

Repeal the Second Amendment, the part about guns anyway. Owning a gun should be a privilege, not a right.

• Declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal. Hey! We did it to the Communist Party, and the NRA has led to the deaths of more of us than American Commies ever did. (I would also raze the organization’s headquarters, clear the rubble and salt the earth, but that’s optional.) Make ownership of unlicensed assault rifles a felony. If some people refused to give up their guns, that “prying the guns from their cold, dead hands” thing works for me.”

Putnam vows to withhold pistol permits information

“The asinine editors at the Journal News have gone out of their way to place a virtual scarlet letter on law abiding firearm owners throughout the region and I thank God that Putnam County has a clerk with the guts to stand up and draw the line here in Putnam County. This is clearly a violation of privacy, and needs to be corrected immediately. The same elitist eggheads who use their editorial page to coddle terrorists and criminals are now treating law-abiding citizens like level-three sexual predators. Every person with common sense should be offended …”

Snow Is A Thing Of The Past In The US

Experts told us last year that CO2 caused a lack of snow in the Eastern US. Apparently CO2 levels must have declined.

This was the year of growing recognition that a string of weather events, from violent storms to record-breaking droughts, was having a profound impact on the lives of people in this country and around the world.

NOAA reports that 2012 had the fewest violent storms on record in the US

Bill McKibben’s message is finally sinking in.

Will Diane Feinstein Ban Gay Sex?

Gay sex has killed millions of people in the US, many thousands of times more than those killed by NRA members.

Perhaps Diane Feinstein should extend her hatred of Americans to ban all new gay sex, and create a registry for existing gay sex offenders to be grandfathered in, background checked and fingerprinted in a federal registry.

Hopefully Alaska Is No Longer The Canary In The Coal Mine

ScreenHunter_374 Jan. 02 07.20

Alaska is going rogue on climate change.

While global temperatures surge hotter and the ice-cap crumbles, the nation’s icebox is getting even icier.

Global temperatures are not increasing and the Arctic is frozen solid.

That may not be news to Alaskans coping with another round of 50-below during the coldest winter in two decades, or to the mariners locked out of the Bering Sea this spring by record ice growth.

Then again, it might. The 49th state has long been labeled one of the fastest-warming spots on the planet. But that’s so 20th Century.

In the first decade since 2000, the 49th state cooled 2.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

Government funded climate nutcases tell us that Alaska is melting and burning up, and is the canary in the coal mine.
