Jet-setting hypocrites like Al Gore, Prince Charles, Barack Obama, Michael Bloomberg, Thomas Friedman, James Cameron and Richard Branson tell children that they have no future because their parents are destroying the planet.

This teaches all schoolchildren to hate their families, their country, their culture, and everything good in the their lives. It promotes every imaginable form of anti-social behavior.

In completely unrelated news, last week a child murdered his mother and 26 people at an elementary school.

The world didn’t end — yet It may be more fun to consider Maya doomsday scenarios, but shouldn’t we be focused on fixing actual threats to Earth like climate change?

So much for another wacky end-of-the-world theory. The hypothesis that the world would be destroyed at the end of the 13th baktun cycle in the Maya calendar (which corresponds pretty closely with Dec. 21) was just plain wrong.

Nor, come to think of it, was the last much-publicized prophet of doom on target. That was Harold Camping, the Christian radio announcer who predicted that the rapture (and end of the world) would come on May 21, 2011. When that didn’t happen, he recalibrated the date as Oct. 21, 2011. He has since given up predicting disasters.

What’s odd is that despite our apparent obsession with global catastrophe, we’re surprisingly reluctant to confront the complications of actual, documented threats to our planet. Science and observation seem to indicate that real planetary crises will come more quietly and slowly but just as sadly — and perhaps more so because by that time we will have had years, if not decades, of legitimate warning. The effects of climate change may not be as dramatic as the reappearance of Satan on Earth, but they are a lot more imminent.

The LA Times has proven that they are stupider than Harold Camping, because they haven’t given up on predicting disasters. After all, the great prophet Hansen has told us that parts of Manhattan will be permanently submerged by 2008.

I am back from surveying the effects of global warming on Baja California. I left no stone unturned – having surveyed ocean warming by jet ski, coastal devastation by para-sail  and ice conditions in my margaritas. I also did an informal but detailed survey of how global warming is affecting bikinied bodies.

As I departed, it made me sad to think that man-made sea level rise was going to destroy the beaches of Cabo San Lucas. Based on University of Colorado satellite data, I have determined that Cabo will drown in only infinity years.

HARROLD, Texas (AP) – In this tiny Texas town, children and their parents don’t give much thought to safety at the community’s lone school – mostly because some of the teachers are carrying concealed weapons.

In remote Harrold, the nearest sheriff’s office is 30 minutes away, and people tend to know – and trust – one another. So the school board voted to let teachers bring guns to school.

“We don’t have money for a security guard, but this is a better solution,” Superintendent David Thweatt said. “A shooter could take out a guard or officer with a visible, holstered weapon, but our teachers have master’s degrees, are older and have had extensive training. And their guns are hidden. We can protect our children.”

While the morons in the press attack the NRA for their common sense proposal, at least one community is using their brain and taking the NRA’s advice.

The leafy, well-heeled New Jersey suburb will station a permanent armed cop in each of its nine schools starting Jan. 2.

It’s apparently the first district nationwide bent on packing heat in every schoolhouse since madman Adam Lanza gunned down 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., on Dec. 14.

“We’ve made a collective decision as a town that we need armed security in each of our schools,” Mayor Jonathan Hornik told The Post.

“With this new evil, you can’t just sit there and hope that it doesn’t happen in your town. We must protect our kids.”

The US depends on cheap fossil fuels to survive.

By telling the US that its lifeblood must be purged, people like James Hansen and John Kerry are pointing a shotgun at American’s heads – and asking them to pull the trigger. In order to accomplish this, two generations of brainwashing were required to destroy all self-respect for about 51% of the population.

Alarmists believe that man-made CO2 controls all weather, thus it is responsible for tropical storm Sandy. Assuming for a mindless second that they are correct, then they would also have to attribute the record seven year lull in Florida hurricanes and major hurricanes to man-made CO2. A shortage of fossil fuels would send us back to the dark ages, but lefties are too stupid to figure it out.

Similarly, gun control advocates imagine that a gun ban will make their children safe because it might have prevented Sandy Hook. What they don’t see are the countless numbers of crimes which are prevented every day simply because criminals are deterred by the significant possibility of an armed individual or household. A gun ban would cause crime to skyrocket, but lefties are too stupid to figure it out.

Sick individuals have dozens of readily available mechanisms to commit mass murder. Hundreds of thousands of children die every year from being hit by car. Rwandans killed 800,000 with machetes. Lefties imagine that repressing other people will make the world safe, because they are blind in both eyes.
