With a little under a month to go before the “official” start of winter, the city of Regina, Saskatchewan, has already broken records for its snowiest November.

At a few days shy of December, the city has received between 55 and 70 cm of snow for the entire month of November, depending on the location.

That’s more than the 1941 November record of 53 cm. The historical average for November is around 14 cm.

Looks like Rahmstorf used the 1990 IPCC projections (before they went alarmist)  for his baseline to compare against the satellite data, offset the y-axis of the satellite data – and used the completely inappropriate GIA adjustment.

The key thing to note is that the satellite trend is not as steep as the pre-1985 tide gauge trend.

Record-breaking temperatures for February in the UK are directly attributable to global warming, according to the Met Office.

On the night of 3rd – 4th February, the CET (Central England Temperature) minimum temperature was 11.2 degrees C, beating the previous February figure of 10.3 degrees C. On the 4th February the average temperature was recorded at 12.5 degree C, beating the previous high of 12.0 degrees C.

The record highs came just two weeks after the so-called ‘big freeze’, during which most of the country experienced snow.

Top scientists are telling us this week that global warming is much worse than they predicted a decade ago, which can be clearly seen in their forecast from the year 2000.

David Parker, at the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research in Berkshire, says ultimately, British children could have only virtual experience of snow. Via the internet, they might wonder at polar scenes – or eventually “feel” virtual cold.

The goal of science is to find out how things work.

A few people are fortunate enough to be able to make a living that way, but for the most part scientists are caught up in the search for ways to keep their grant money coming in. This means generating sciency sounding papers which have results that please the funding agency.

If any actual science gets done in the process, that is purely coincidental for most people who call themselves scientists.

Electric cars have to carry large, heavy, expensive environmentally destructive batteries which run out of electricity quickly, take a long time to recharge, and have a short lifespan.

I propose the following engineering solution. Drive a cheap, gasoline or diesel powered car.

“The city is encouraging companies to invest in electric vehicles in order to incrementally improve Chicago’s air quality while helping to advance these emerging transportation technologies,” Chicago Department of Transportation Commissioner Gabe Klein said in a statement. “By offering a voucher at the point of sale, rather than as a post-sale rebate, we hope that more companies will be encouraged to participate in the program.”

The government should mandate that everyone must purchase an Obamacar or face taxes penalties taxes . These amazing vehicles can go 30 miles on battery power, and only require three hours to recharge – assuming you can find a 240 volt outlet.
