Real Climate Credibility Is A Thing Of The Past

RealClimate: Has Pacific Northwest snowpack declined? Yes.

There has been no trend over the last 55 years. As usual, Real Climate is just talking trash.

One Hundred Twenty Eight Votes Per Person In Florida

Allen West seeks hearing after opponent declares victory in congressional race

The recount showed 900 voters cast ballots in precinct 93, where there are 7 registered voters, Edson said.

“West’s attorneys then sought a recount of all early ballots after the elections office conceded to double-counting some ballots and ignoring others on election night.”

“As usual, Murphy’s people are full of garbage,” Edson said.

Obama Piles The Lies On Top Of The Lies

During the debates, Obama and Candy Crowley worked together to tell the world that Obama immediately knew Benghazi was a terrorist attack.

The election is over and Obama has different problems now, so he tells us that he didn’t know it was a terrorist attack.

The White House yesterday denied it edited talking points about the terrorist attack that killed the American ambassador to Libya — contradicting remarks made a day earlier by  David Petraeus.

Petraeus on Friday told lawmakers that from the onset of the investigation about the Sept. 11 attack, US intelligence pointed to al Qaeda affiliates.

instead of relaying what the CIA initially reported, UN Ambassador Susan Rice repeatedly insisted the attack was a spontaneous protest spurred by an American-made video

CNN and Candy Crowley are of course too stupid to see the problem with this.

Climate Science Test Tube Babies

We have 600 million years of information about the climate at CO2 levels up to 6,000 ppm. For example, there was an ice age during the Ordovician with CO2 levels 20X higher than they are today. Huge coral reefs formed during the late Permian with CO2 levels 10X higher than today. There is no indication in the historical record that higher CO2 levels kill coral reefs or are associated with monster hurricanes.

Many climate scientists aren’t interested in empirical data, choosing instead to use climate models which can be tuned to generate the results they want to see.

Hamas Collateral Damage Strategy

Hamas launches missiles at Israeli civilians from locations next to schools and hospitals, so that Israeli anti-missile operations will kill civilians – and then useful idiots at the BBC and New York Times will show pictures of dead children.

This strategy has worked for decades. Progressives assume that anyone of darker skin is too stupid and helpless to understand or take responsibility for their own actions.

Don’t Flush – Unless The Wind Is Blowing

Obama green economics at work. You can’t make this stuff up.

Bayonne’s windmill should be spinning by the end of the week, a city official said yesterday.

One of the transformers at the East Fifth Street pumping station sustained water damage after Hurricane Sandy struck on Oct. 29, and the station’s wind turbine has been down for the count ever since.

The transformer should be replaced today and will be powered up before the end of the week, Municipal Utilities Authority Executive Director Stephen Gallo said yesterday.

The $5.6 million windmill, paid for in large part by grants, helps power the station that pumps city sewage through Jersey City and on to the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission treatment facility in Newark.

Bayonne previously spent $200,000 to power the station. Depending on wind velocity, the turbine, which became operational in June, will shave upwards of two-thirds of that cost, Gallo said.

Bayonne says windmill that powers sewage pumping station is coming back online | NJ.com

The windmill cost $5,600,000 and worked for four months before a tropical storm wrecked it. They anticipate that when functional it will save $150,000 per year. That means it will only take 37 years to pay for itself.

On the other hand, had they put that $5.6 million in the bank at 5% interest, it would be worth $34 million in 37 years – which would pay for 170 years of electricity. Not to mention the fact that the windmill won’t last anywhere near 37 years, it will kill thousands of birds, and that a major hurricane (the new normal) would completely destroy their investment.

Good Day For Berbatov To Send Fergie A Thank You Note

In 2010, Sir Alex Ferguson had the top scorer in the BPL and didn’t play him in his humiliating Champion’s League smack down by Barcelona.

After Man U’s shutout yesterday by the Canaries, it would be nice to see Berbatov send Fergie another thank you note for releasing him from the coal mine.

Lomborg On Sandy And Immoral Climate Lies

WHEN Superstorm Sandy hit the east coast of the US on October 29, it not only flooded the New York City subway and became the most important factor for 15 per cent of US voters in the presidential election a week later.

It also resurrected the unwarranted claim that global warming was to blame for such events, together with the morally irresponsible argument that we should help future hurricane victims by cutting CO2 emissions.

Sandy underscored a fundamental question for all parts of the world that are affected by hurricanes. If we want to reduce hurricane damage, should we focus primarily on a very cheap solution that would enable us to handle storm surges much better within a few years? Or should we pursue an incredibly expensive solution that would require almost 100 years to avoid 9mm of 7.5m surges?

The morally defensible answer is clear, and it has nothing to do with immediate reductions in CO2 emissions.

Fergie Time

Man U was given an extra minute of Fergie Time by the referee in their failed effort to obtain a point against Norwich yesterday, but even that didn’t help.

NASA Rewriting US History

Until about ten years ago, NASA showed the US on an 80 year long cooling trend, with the three hottest years being in the 1920s and 1930s. They have deleted the raw data from their website and blocked archiving, but John Daly captured it. It was originally located at this link :

http://www.giss.nasa.gov/data/update/gistemp/graphs/FigD.txt

and can now be seen here :

http://web.archive.org/web/20120124014257/http://www.john-daly.com/usatemps.006

NASA has since rewritten US history and shows the same period warming – with 1998 as the hottest year.

data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/graphs_v3/Fig.D.txt

James Hansen wrote this in 1999, before he decided to alter US history :

Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath.

in the U.S. there has been little temperature change in the past 50 years, the time of rapidly increasing greenhouse gases — in fact, there was a slight cooling throughout much of the country

NASA GISS: Science Briefs: Whither U.S. Climate?

This sort of honest assessment was no use for obtaining funding or achieving radical left wing political goals, so Hansen created a hockey stick of adjustments to cool the past and warm the present.

The current version of the US temperature record from NOAA and NASA is a complete fraud, and fundamentally misrepresents changes to the US climate.
