1974 : Record Storm Surge Caused By Excess Arctic Ice

Experts tell us that Sandy’s storm surge was caused by missing Arctic ice, but the record storm surge of 1974 was caused by excess Arctic ice.

1974 – Bering Sea Storm

The Bering Sea storm hit Nome, AK, on November 11-12, causing a storm surge of more than 13 feet. Water overflowed from the harbor, went over the sea wall in Nome, and rose to a depth of over 5 feet in the low lying areas of the city. This storm was the strongest in Nome’s 113 years of weather records, producing the worst coastal flooding on record for the region.

The CIA reported that Arctic ice had expanded by 10 – 15%

1974 was a very busy year for weather  disasters. Scientists blamed them on global cooling.

US Trying A Bold Experiment

After four years of exploding debt, credit downgrades and record unemployment – the US electorate chose to keep everything the same in Washington and see if Obama can completely finish of the country during the next four years.

Obama had every advantage four years ago and proved that he was completely incompetent – so voters thought he might do better from a position of confusion, negativity, dishonesty and weakness.

A Change Of Fortunes

Last night sucked, but Celtic beating Barcelona almost made up for it.

Wee, sleekit, cow’rin, tim’rous beastie,
O, what a panic’s in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty
Wi bickering brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an’ chase thee,
Wi’ murdering pattle.

I’m truly sorry man’s dominion
Has broken Nature’s social union,
An’ justifies that ill opinion
Which makes thee startle
At me, thy poor, earth born companion
An’ fellow mortal!

I doubt na, whyles, but thou may thieve;
What then? poor beastie, thou maun live!
A daimen icker in a thrave
‘S a sma’ request;
I’ll get a blessin wi’ the lave,
An’ never miss’t.

Thy wee-bit housie, too, in ruin!
It’s silly wa’s the win’s are strewin!
An’ naething, now, to big a new ane,
O’ foggage green!
An’ bleak December’s win’s ensuin,
Baith snell an’ keen!

Thou saw the fields laid bare an’ waste,
An’ weary winter comin fast,
An’ cozie here, beneath the blast,
Thou thought to dwell,
Till crash! the cruel coulter past
Out thro’ thy cell.

That wee bit heap o’ leaves an’ stibble,
Has cost thee monie a weary nibble!
Now thou’s turned out, for a’ thy trouble,
But house or hald,
To thole the winter’s sleety dribble,
An’ cranreuch cauld.

But Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men
Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
For promis’d joy!

Still thou are blest, compared wi’ me!
The present only toucheth thee:
But och! I backward cast my e’e,
On prospects drear!
An’ forward, tho’ I canna see,
I guess an’ fear!

Remember – Only You Can Prevent Storm Surges

Americans went into the voting booth yesterday with horrific images of the fallout from Superstorm Sandy fresh in their minds. Pictures of homes ripped from their moorings, stories of children whisked away by rushing waters, reports of elderly people trapped on top floors of buildings — the true cost of ignoring science’s warnings about global warming are now all too vivid.

Philip Radford: After Sandy, Global Warming Should Be the Top Priority in Obama’s Second Term

Had we listened to James Hansen 30 years ago and moved back to a 13th century agrarian lifestyle, then we wouldn’t have to listen to morons like  Philip Radford because Huffington Post would not exist..

Storm surges have killed hundreds of thousands of people over the last millennium. Blaming them on US generated CO2 is as stupid and superstitious as a human being can get.

No Hope For Change

Four years ago Obama had everything going for him politically, and he failed miserably.

This time he won the election through negativity, lies and fear – and we are stuck with him for four years.  Fear causes people to make very stupid decisions.

Winter That Wasn’t Update

Last winter had little snow in the Eastern US due to missing Arctic ice. This autumn, missing Arctic ice is causing record snow.

The CO2/missing Arctic ice coupling is a powerful  combination which can cause excess, deficient or normal snowfall – depending on what a rent seeking scientist is currently hoping to prove.

Rocky Mountain High

One of my kids suddenly quit seeing his best friend Matt a few months ago. On Sunday he told me why. Matt went on a three month cocaine binge.

Another of his friends dropped out of CSU after a semester long marijuana binge. His aunt is awaiting a liver transplant because of hepatitis-C from her lifelong drug addiction.

The ready availability of drugs in Colorado is ruining people’s lives.
