Greenland only has one long term GHCN station, and it was warmer there seventy years ago. There has only been one record maximum set so far this year, compared to sixteen in 1916.

Alarmists pretend that time began in Greenland in 1980, because that was a very cold period.

The graph below plots average daily temperatures for all Greenland stations, but is misleading because colder locations have been added recently.

The next cold blast is forecast to bring January weather to Colorado on Thursday, and much of the rest of the country shortly thereafter. This will cause a flood of global warming refugees headed south to escape the cold.

Eventually they will have to go all the way south to Antarctica, because the UK’s top scientist says that will be the only inhabitable continent in a few decades.

Global temperatures directly affect the acidity of the ocean, which in turn changes the acoustical properties of sea water. New research suggests that global warming may give Earth’s oceans the same hi-fi sound qualities they had more than 100 million years ago, during the Age of the Dinosaurs, according to the American Institute of Physics.

The reason for this surprising communication upgrade is that whales vocalize in the low-frequency sound range, typically less than 200 hertz, and the new research predicts that by the year 2100, global warming will acidify saltwater sufficiently to make low-frequency sound near the ocean surface travel significantly farther than it currently does — perhaps twice as far.

Rhode Island acoustician David G Browning, lead scientist on the research team, will present his findings at the 164th meeting of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), held 22 – 26 October in Kansas City, Missouri.

He explains the sea change this way: “We call it the Cretaceous acoustic effect, because ocean acidification forced by global warming appears to be leading us back to the similar ocean acoustic conditions as those that existed 110 million years ago, during the Age of Dinosaurs.”

Obama Affirms Climate Change Goals

President-elect Barack Obama, in strongly-worded remarks to a gathering of governors and foreign officials on Tuesday, said he had no intention of softening or delaying his aggressive targets for reducing emissions that cause the warming of the planet.

Speaking by video to a climate conference in Los Angeles, Mr. Obama repeated his campaign vow to reduce climate-altering carbon dioxide emissions by 80 percent by 2050, and invest $150 billion in new energy-saving technologies.

“Now is the time to confront this challenge once and for all,” Mr. Obama said. “Delay is no longer an option. Denial is no longer an acceptable response.”

In order to reduce CO2 emissions by 80%, Obama would have to wipe these countries off the map. I don’t doubt his sincerity about getting rid of the US, but some of the other countries might be more difficult.

According to Obama, in the middle east huge crowds of murderous people armed with heavy artillery can spontaneously appear on 9/11 – if a YouTube video pisses them off.

The Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was planned and “not spontaneous,” a U.S. intelligence official has told The Washington Times.

The official’s statement rebuts news reports that there is no evidence the attack was planned, even as the intelligence community says al Qaeda-linked militants carried out the deadly assault. The official, who is not authorized to talk to the news media, asked to remain anonymous.

The culture of scientist worship comes at a very high price.

Six Italian scientists and an ex-government official have been sentenced to six years in prison over the 2009 deadly earthquake in L’Aquila.

A regional court found them guilty of multiple manslaughter.

Prosecutors said the defendants gave a falsely reassuring statement before the quake, while the defence maintained there was no way to predict major quakes.

The 6.3 magnitude quake devastated the city and killed 309 people.

Many smaller tremors had rattled the area in the months before the quake that destroyed much of the historic centre.

It took Judge Marco Billi slightly more than four hours to reach the verdict in the trial, which had begun in September 2011.

Lawyers have said that they will appeal against the sentence. As convictions are not definitive until after at least one level of appeal in Italy, it is unlikely any of the defendants will immediately face prison.

Demagogues like James Hansen and Michael Mann, who consistently and wildly overstate their understanding of science, cause many people to believe that scientists actually know what they are talking about.

No one can predict specific earthquakes, just as no one can predict the climate. Mankind is returning to the dark ages in believing that humans control natural events much larger than us.
