BTW – March of 1910 was the year when all of the US was above normal. In March 2012, the west coast was below normal.

The sea is frozen for 1,600 km away from the coast, but due to some mysterious CO2 related phenomenon – the interior is melting at -119F.

Antarctic ice thawing faster than predicted

A thaw of Antarctic ice is outpacing predictions by the U.N. climate panel and could in the worst case drive up world sea levels by 2 meters (6 ft) by 2100, a leading expert said on Wednesday.

Millions of people, from Bangladesh to Florida and some Pacific island states, live less than a meter above sea level. Most of the world’s major cities, from Shanghai to Buenos Aires, are by the sea.

Chris Rapley, the outgoing head of the British Antarctic Survey, said there were worrying signs of accelerating flows of ice towards the ocean from both Antarctica and Greenland with little sign of more snow falling inland to compensate.

“The ice is moving faster both in Greenland and in the Antarctic than the glaciologists had believed would happen,” Rapley told Reuters during a climate seminar in Ny Alesund on a Norwegian Arctic island 1,200 km from the North Pole.

“I think the realistic view is that we will be nearer a meter than the 40 cm” in sea level rise by 2100, Raply said. The U.N. climate panel in February gave a likely range of 18 to 59 cm this century, for an average around 40 cm.

Obama convinced Congress in 2009 that putting every American child another $10,000 in debt would keep unemployment below a maximum of 8%, and lower it to just over 5% by Q4 2012.

His recovery plan put unemployment over 10%, and it is still above 8%. He is the either completely incompetent, or intentionally wrecking America’s future. The press supports him, because they agree with his agenda.

A huge cold blast is headed to the US this week, which will once again prove global warming, because all US weather now undeniably proves global warming.

In a few days, USHCN will release their temperature data for September.

It appears that NOAA made a decision in March, that 2012 was going to be hottest year ever in the US – regardless of the weather for the rest of the year. This decision has forced USHCN to upwards adjust YTD 2012 temperatures by more than three degrees relative to a century ago.

September was another cool month, and this will force USHCN to upwards adjust by even more. I am thinking that USHCN may ultimately have to upwards adjusted 2012 by as much as five degrees in order to achieve NOAA’s requirement of hottest year ever.

He said the Earth was entering the “first hot period” for 60 million years, when there was no ice on the planet and “the rest of the globe could not sustain human life”. The warning – one of the starkest delivered by a top scientist – comes as ministers decide next week whether to weaken measures to cut the pollution that causes climate change, even though Tony Blair last week described the situation as “very, very critical indeed”.
