The Arctic melt season pretty much ended on August 25. That was the last day which JAXA maps showed any noticeable contraction of the ice edge.

Almost all of the ice pack is covered with fresh snow now, and each Polar bear only has two Manhattans of ice to herself now. Similar to living in Wyoming.

The National Interagency Fire Center lists these fires as the largest in US history.

1. 1871 Peshtigo Fire – 3.8 million acres
2. 1825 Maine Fire – 3 million acres
3. 1898 South Carolina – 3 million acres
4. 1910 Idaho – 3 million acres
5. 1881 Michigan – 2.5 million acres

People who claim that fires are getting worse – are imbeciles.

Before USHCN cheating, March of 1910 was the warmest on record in the US. The following summer was also one of the worst on record across the US for forest fires

The Great Fire of 1910 (also commonly referred to as the Big Blowup or the Big Burn) was a wildfire which burned about three million acres (12,000 km², approximately the size of Connecticut) in northeast Washington, northern Idaho (the panhandle), and western Montana.^[1] The area burned included parts of the Bitterroot, Cabinet, Clearwater, Coeur d’Alene, Flathead, Kaniksu, Kootenai, Lewis and Clark, Lolo, and St. Joe national forests. The firestorm burned over two days (August 20–21, 1910), and killed 87 people,^[2] including 78 firefighters.^[3]It is believed to be the largest, although not the deadliest, fire in recorded U.S. history.^[4]

There were lots of other huge fires in the US that summer. However, they didn’t have McKitten or Romm to blame the fires on CO2.

USHCN has updated their “raw monthly” data for August, and the summer of 2012 (June-August) was the 16th hottest in the US. The three hottest summers were 1936, 1934 and 1901.

Even after almost two degrees of upwards adjustments relative to 1901, USHCN was only able to cheat 2012 up to the #4 spot.

As the Front Range of the Rockies set all-time temperature records, horrible wild fires obliterated homes in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins.

Fires happen every year, and we had very few record temperatures in Fort Collins this summer. It was a beautiful summer and I am sad to see it ending so soon .

Here are some massive fires from the days when CO2 was safe.

The greatest forest fire of modern time occurred in Maine and New Brunswick. U.S.A.. in October. 1825. It swept over 3.000.000 acres. Here the flames jumped rivers hundreds of yards in width, and the heat was so terrific that great trees 4ft. in diameter burst into flames like torches and were utter ly consumed in a few minutes.

On September 8, 1900 a giant hurricane hit Galveston Island with 145 MPH winds and killed more than 10,000 people.

Had any of Mann’s direct ancestors been there at the time, we wouldn’t have to listen to his bullcrap about hurricanes getting worse.

Dinosaurs ruled the earth for 165 million years, when CO2 was much higher. The climate was just fine.

Dinosaurs don’t suffer from neuroses like Democrats.
