Cold night breaks August records in places

Tampa, Florida. Exterior GOP Convention. Sign on door reads, “Monday is canceled because of violent weather caused by altered climate. The Oil and Coal Lobby Cocktail Hour will be moved to higher ground.”

Why, then, do we seem unable to grasp the immediacy of global warming even as altered climate shuts down the Republican National Convention and ever-expanding hurricane seasons take their toll in lives and damage?

Florida has not been hit by any hurricane for seven years, the longest such period on record.

Alarmists were hoping for a major hurricane, but all they got was some forecasts from NOAA which missed by a thousand miles. There was no violent weather in Tampa at all. Besides being insane, these people are complete imbeciles.

People who say things like that should volunteer to live there. The entire summer was below normal temperatures in the high Arctic (as it has been for the last dozen years) and parts of Alaska and Siberia had one of their coldest winters and summers on record.

People were saying the same things 60 years ago, but unlike Markey they actually knew what they were talking about..

LONDON (A.P.).-The earth is getting warmer. The oceans are getting deeper. The glaciers are getting smaller. Even the fish are changing their way of life.

All this and more is going on because of a vast, unaccountable, century-by-century change, in climate. In his study at Bedford College in London, Britain’s distinguished geographer, Professor Gordon Manley, is worrying about it.

One of the big problems facing many teenagers is their belief that they can do really important things, even if they lack the discipline to do their homework.

We basically have a teenager in the White House. He thinks he controls the planet and the seas, but he can’t even control his own government spending, unemployment, or his incessant need to lie about everything.

I am all for putting an adult in the White House, rather than a neurotic teenager who was rejected by his father.

I made a few bets about a JAXA record minimum. I will pay them – under protest – because the passive microwave measurements are missing a lot of ice this summer.

Their maps don’t show any real change for almost a week, yet the graphs continue to show a sharp decline. It all looks like male bovine excrement to me.

The most annoying bet I ever lost was when Joe Paterno took an intentional safety in the last two minutes of the 1977 Fiesta Bowl, and cost me the spread I had given against my alma mater ASU.

NIC charts are produced through the analyses of available in situ, remote sensing, and model data sources. They are generated primarily for mission planning and safety of navigation. NIC charts generally show more ice than do passive microwave derived sea ice concentrations, particularly in the summer when passive microwave algorithms tend to underestimate ice concentration. The record of sea ice concentration from the NIC series is believed to be more accurate than that from passive microwave sensors, especially from the mid-1990s on (see references at the end of this documentation), but it lacks the consistency of some passive microwave time series.

The only rational way to interpret this paragraph is that passive microwave measurements are consistently less accurate. Read this again

You can’t be more accurate and less consistent. It makes no sense mathematically. If your error bars are smaller, then you are -by definition – more consistent.
