The press has been repeating that 2012 is the hottest summer ever in the US.

The high temperature today in Unionville, Missouri was 77F, which was 30 degrees cooler than the same day in 1936.

On August 22, 1936 the temperature was 112 degrees, which was 27 degrees higher than the forecast for the same day this year.

The press drones on endlessly about the imaginary Greenland meltdown, while Greenland freezes at -24C.

One might get the impression that NASA is intentionally misleading people about the climate.

Michael Mann:

Is Dr. Mann kidding? The facts below will show the fallacy of this statement. I will do him the favor of showing him the facts of the matter, since statements like this reveal he does not know them, of if he does, defies logic with the statement above attributed to him.

In March, John Cook told us that an El Nino would make 2012 the hottest year ever, and 2013 even hotter.

So how did he do so far?

ENSO is higher than forecast (0.09) and GISS is much lower than forecast 0.49 for the year and tanking.

Solar max, no volcanoes, no excuses. It looks like 2012 will be one of the coldest years of the decade.

Hansen shows 2-4C anomalies near the North Pole, which are impossible in summer due to the latent heat of melting ice.

Hansen accomplished this stupidity by fabricating data where he doesn’t have any thermometers (grey area below.)

According to Hansen, global temperatures dropped in July to 0.47 – the lowest level since March, and far below Hansen’s zero emissions after 2000 scenario C
