Ice free September in three years
A Google search for “nsidc record low ice extent” turns up 44,800 results. It is like that scene from The Holy Grail, where the horseman is galloping towards you – but never gets any closer.
Nearly every month NSIDC tells us that ice is at a “record low” – yet Arctic ice extent and age continues to increase since the 2007-20o8 minimum. That is what happens when people use confirmation bias ladders to do their cherry picking.
One year ago Andrew Dessler from Texas A&M University wrote an editorial in the Houston Chronicle declaring Texas to be in a permanent drought. No one is talking about Texas any more because they have had above normal rainfall this year.
Similarly, back in February, our friends got hysterical about some early tornadoes. The rest of the tornado season turned out slow and they quit talking about it. Same story for Moscow, Europe 2003, snow is a thing of the past, global cooling ……
The Colorado icon only lasted a couple of weeks, though the MSM is still trying to get mileage out of it. It is a pathetic three-ring circus.
So here is the real story. Some guy from Pakistan got suckered into buying a house in the middle of a pine forest which naturally burns every twenty years, and now he wants someone else to pay for his mistake.
The main fire season in the Southwest is May/June, and the big challenge now is to get through the weekend without too many people drowning in flash floods from the torrential rain.
Time Magazine considers Romm an expert, because he has no idea what he is talking about on either a short or long term time scale.
As the idiots in the press continue to report on imaginary fires in Colorado, we are facing flooding.

In July of 1976 a flash flood southwest of Fort Collins killed 144 people – one of America’s worst flood disasters. It happened at a time when climate experts were panicked about global cooling.

The hottest July 4th was 105F at Woodstock, Virginia in 1898. Half of the 100 degree days were more than a century ago, and all but one occurred with CO2 below 350 ppm.

People who are trying to blame the heat in DC on CO2 are either incompetent or liars.

Our top climate scientists are snake oil salesman. They don’t understand jack about the causes of climate change, so they just make things up, scare people, and keep the money coming in.

In Africa, drought continues for the sixth consecutive year, adding terribly to the toll of famine victims. During 1972 record rains in parts of the U.S., Pakistan and Japan caused some of the worst flooding in centuries. In Canada’s wheat belt, a particularly chilly and rainy spring has delayed planting and may well bring a disappointingly small harvest. Rainy Britain, on the other hand, has suffered from uncharacteristic dry spells the past few springs. A series of unusually cold winters has gripped the American Far West, while New England and northern Europe have recently experienced the mildest winters within anyone’s recollection.
As they review the bizarre and unpredictable weather pattern of the past several years, a growing number of scientists are beginning to suspect that many seemingly contradictory meteorological fluctuations are actually part of a global climatic upheaval. However widely the weather varies from place to place and time to time, when meteorologists take an average of temperatures around the globe they find that the atmosphere has been growing gradually cooler for the past three decades. The trend shows no indication of reversing. Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age.

The CIA blamed record drought and flooding on global cooling.
From 1520 to 1770, according to Oster, spikes in witch trials coincided with sharp drops in temperature. Cold and harsh conditions may have devastated crops, she theorizes, leaving Europeans starving and looking for someone to blame.
The idea that witches lay waste to crops was once conventional wisdom. In a papal bull of 1484, Pope Innocent VIII wrote, ”It has indeed lately come to Our ears . . . many persons of both sexes . . . have blasted the produce of the earth, the grapes of the vine, the fruits of the trees.” According to Oster’s research, crops really were devastated when charges of necromancy flew. The witches themselves, however, were simply climate-change scapegoats.

Replace the word witches with skeptics, and fast forward to 2012. The climate alarmist community is doing exactly the same thing. They assign blame for cyclical changes in weather to all people who don’t perceive the world in the same muddled fashion as themselves.
The hilarious part is that these same superstitious nutcases imagine that they are intelligent and wise.
