It appears that Hansen is completely uninterested in any climate data which he hasn’t tampered with.

His claims of permanent drought are not consistent with the US drought record, which shows a decrease in drought and increase in wetness since records started in 1895.

Hansen forgot to mention that his Hoerling hit piece was co-written by an investor who stands to make or lose millions of dollars depending on how effective Hansen is at scaring people.

I moved back to this site three weeks ago. Since then we have had 250,000 page views, no down time, no slowness, no spam E-mail, no broken access to the site, no bogus posts and readership is back to what it was before the August real-science disaster.

I would never have wanted Drudge or Fox News to link to real-science, because the server almost certainly would have crashed.  BTW – this site was actually linked to by the Washington Post yesterday.

Hansen takes a cheap (and lame) shot at Hoerling, implying that posting a couple of paragraphs on Revkin’s blog is more disruptive than going to jail, giving thousands of interviews, altering temperature data over and over again, or wasting a month with Al Gore pretending to be observing Antarctica.

Some scientists may be able to spend their time blogging and e-mailing without a significant impact on their scientific productivity — I’m not one of them — but I do make an effort to make my papers understandable to a wide audience.

People do not notice climate change because it is masked by day-to-day weather ?uctuations, and we reside in comfortable homes. Animals and plants, on the other hand, can survive only within certain climatic conditions, which are now changing. The National Arbor Day Foundation had to redraw its maps for the zones in
which tree species can survive, and animals are shifting to new habitats as well. Are these gradual changes in the wild consistent with dramatic scienti?c assessments of a crystallizing planetary emergency? Unfortunately, yes. Present examples only hint at the scale of the planetary emergency that climate studies reveal with increasing clarity
