Another Canary Flies Away

For years we have been told by NASA that the Antarctic Peninsula is the fastest warming place on Earth. But sadly for Al and Jim, over the past decade CRUTEMPv4 shows a decline in temperatures there.

I’m very surprised that NASA didn’t make a press release about this, because all that Hansen cares about is good science.

For Bill McKibben

Bill told me the other day that droughts and floods happen more frequently now due to global warming. That idea is not supported by the historical record.

Australia had drought, flood or both during almost every year from 1789 to 1864.

Understanding The Underwear Bomber

The logic is very straightforward. If you kill dozens of innocent women and children by exploding your genitals, god will reward you by providing dozens of virgins to have sex with.

The logic is nearly as rational as the concept that taxes can prevent tornadoes.

110 Years Of King Drought

Australian government scientists have only recently become stupid enough to suggest that drought is permanent.

1829 : Prayer To End The Drought In Australia

THE DROUGHT!
From The Australiad, a Poem.
Bv Science told—a burning dryness came
Throughout the land ; grass and stalky maize Universal felt the parch’d up, arid soil ;
Then pin’d the quenchless kine, the rambling sheep, And ev’ry lapping beast that roved the woods. All were seen grazing o’er the winding creeks,
And mountain gulleys, and the springs in vain. In the hot, blazing air, now drooped the birds, And there were seen the doleful dying quails, And roselles golden, with glittering hue, And wailing emu, and proud jetty swans,
And ev’ry domestic bird to housewife dear, And lastly man felt the wrath of Heaven And pray’d—but not in vain.

Lugar Goes Down In Flames – Blames Global Warming

Six-term Sen. Richard Lugar, who CNN projected would lose his bid for the GOP Senate nomination in Indiana, issued the following statement shortly after his concession speech Tuesday night:

Republicans cannot admit to any nuance in policy on climate change. Republican members are now expected to take pledges against any tax increases.

In statement, Lugar defends campaign while criticizing partisan environment – CNN Political Ticker – CNN.com Blogs

There can be little doubt that tax increases will improve the climate. NASA’s top scientist has made this important connection – which I explain below.

The albedo of the Arctic is normally very high, due to white ice, snow and clouds – as seen in the satellite picture below. However, adding dollar bills to the surface of the ice causes it to absorb more sunlight. Thus by confiscating dollars from American citizens who might drop them on the ice, the global temperature is suppressed.

A Decisive President

Jack Keane, the Army vice chief of staff from 1999 to 2003, told Mike Huckabee on Fox News over the weekend that the U.S. government knew exactly where Osama bin Laden was nearly a year before President Obama gave the order to send in the Navy SEALs to his compound in Pakistan.

The retired general told Huckabee, “We had the target in the summer (of) 2010, and it took until the following May to execute the mission.”

The Late 1990s Was A Busy Time In Climate Science

Hansen was busy hiding the decline in US temperatures, while Mann had an equally tough job – making the Medieval Warm Period disappear.
