Junk Science At Its Worst

I’m so tired of these people lying and cheating – about everything.

During the 20th century, sea level has risen by an average of 1.7 millimeters (about 1/16 of an inch) per year. Since 1993, NASA satellites have observed an average sea level rise of 3.27 millimeters (about 1/8 of an inch) per year. A better understanding of how climate change and sea level rise are shaping barrier islands will also lead to a more complete grasp of how these dynamic forces are affecting more populated coastal areas

http://www.sciencedaily.com/

Tide gauges don’t show any increase after 1993. These idiotic numbers (3.27) come from changing in midstream to an uncalibrated, cherry-picked, manipulated, satellite data set. Call it the CU/NASA nature trick.

Some satellites (Envisat) don’t show any increase in sea level over the last eight years.

This Is Your Mind On Al Gore

Projects by Students for Students

What is global warming?

Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises).  It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature.  This hurts many people, animals, and plants.

Although the greenhouse effect makes the earth able to have people living on it, if there gets to be too many gases, the earth can get unusually warmer, and many plants, animals, and people will die.  They would die because there would be less food (plants like corn, wheat, and other vegetables and fruits).  This would happen because the plants would not be able to take the heat.  This would cause us to have less food to eat, but it would also limit the food that animals have.  With less food, like grass, for the animals that we need to survive (like cows) we would even have less food.  Gradually, people, plants, and animals would all die of hunger.

What are greenhouse gasses?

Greenhouse gasses are gasses are in the earth’s atmosphere that collect heat and light from the sun.  With too many greenhouse gasses in the air, the earth’s atmosphere will trap too much heat and the earth will get too hot.  As a result people, animals, and plants would die because the heat would be too strong.

Penn researchers link fastest sea-level rise in 2 millennia to increasing temperatures

PHILADELPHIA — An international research team including University of Pennsylvania scientists has shown that the rate of sea-level rise along the U.S. Atlantic coast is greater now than at any time in the past 2,000 years and that there is a consistent link between changes in global mean surface temperature and sea level.

The research was conducted by members of the Department of Earth and Environmental Science in Penn’s School of Arts and Science: Benjamin Horton, associate professor and director of the Sea Level Research Laboratory, and postdoctoral fellow Andr ew Kemp, now at Yale University’s Climate and Energy Institute.

Their work will be published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences on June 20.

I’ll start with Maine and work my way down the coast. PSMSL has three long-term tide gauges in Maine. All of them show that sea level rise rates dropped around 1980. Also note that all the graphs end at the peak of El Nino in 2010. Sea level has plummeted since then.

Illegal To Post Pictures Of Al Gore In Tennessee

A new Tennessee law makes it a crime to “transmit or display an image” online that is likely to “frighten, intimidate or cause emotional distress” to someone who sees it. Violations can get you almost a year in jail time or up to $2500 in fines.

The Tennessee legislature has been busy updating its laws for the Internet age, and not always for the better. Last week we reported on a bill that updated Tennessee’s theft-of-service laws to include “subscription entertainment services” like Netflix.

The ban on distressing images, which was signed by Gov. Bill Haslam last week, is also an update to existing law. Tennessee law already made it a crime to make phone calls, send emails, or otherwise communicate directly with someone in a manner the sender “reasonably should know” would “cause emotional distress” to the recipient. If the communciation lacked a “legitimate purpose,” the sender faced jail time.

Nothing Happening In The Beaufort Sea

Over the last two weeks, there has been very little change in Beaufort Sea ice. This is where much of the melting occurred last June.
