Life In The Climate Science Nut House

CHICAGO — The Windy City is preparing for a heat wave — a permanent one.

Climate scientists have told city planners that based on current trends, Chicago will feel more like Baton Rouge than a Northern metropolis before the end of this century.

So, Chicago is getting ready for a wetter, steamier future. Public alleyways are being repaved with materials that are permeable to water. The white oak, the state tree of Illinois, has been banned from city planting lists, and swamp oaks and sweet gum trees from the South have been given new priority. Thermal radar is being used to map the city’s hottest spots, which are then targets for pavement removal and the addition of vegetation to roofs. And air-conditioners are being considered for all 750 public schools, which until now have been heated but rarely cooled.

Summers in Illinois have been cooling for at least eighty years. What trends are these climate scientists talking about? Once again, I have to ask – are they dishonest, or just grossly incompetent?

1934 – An Inconvenient Truth

1934 was a tough year for future alarmists. Heat and drought over much of the planet.

As of the end of the last century, it was the hottest year on record in the US – by far. US temperatures had trended downwards ever since.

Hansen wrote this in 1999 :

Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath.

Something magical happened in the year 2000 though – the past became much cooler and the present became much warmer. Hansen and USHCN are very talented people – apparently capable of time travel.

Fortunately, we have lots of historical records which our top scientists can’t “correct.”

And it wasn’t just in the US. Reader Ivan dug up a bunch of historical references showing that it was indeed a worldwide event -contrary to the claims of our “top rated” climate scientists.

Ice Pulling Away From The Siberian Coast

Over the past week, southerly winds have pulled the ice away from the Siberian Coast. Hopefully no Polar Bears were straddling the fracture at the time it broke off.

Rapture In England!

West Ham, Blackpool, and Birmingham disappeared from the Premiership this weekend. Wolves did manage to avoid extinction, despite being hunted down at home.

This man also mysteriously disappeared, after it was discovered that Ray Wilkins was the real manager.

Another giant will likely disappear next weekend.

It never hurts having a guy who is about nine feet tall in front of the goal.

Looking For The Fingerprint Of Global Warming

Experts say it will take months to find the fingerprint of global warming in the storms this spring. Let’s do it in about 10 seconds.

http://www.hprcc.unl.edu/products/maps/acis/YearTDeptUS.png

Temperatures were unusually cold in the north and west, and warm and humid in the southeast. Where they collided there was a lot of violent weather. Anomalous cold is not caused by trapped heat.

No fingerprint found, case dismissed. Can I have the research money?
