What Is The Point?

The point is, that we are being fed a continuous stream of disinformation from sources we are supposed to be able to trust. Is it malicious, or is it Hanlon’s Razor?

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity

CU Professor Warns That Colorado/Utah Ski Areas Are Doomed!

He ran a climate model on a supercomputer. How can anyone argue with that?

Warming Climate Signals Big Changes for Ski Areas, Says New Colorado Study

December 15, 2008

Rocky Mountain ski areas face dramatic changes this century as the climate warms, including best-case scenarios of shortened ski seasons and higher snowlines and worst-case scenarios of bare base areas and winter rains, says a new Colorado study.

Their forecasts indicate the “business as usual” scenario will cause average temperatures to rise by nearly 4 degrees Fahrenheit at Aspen and Park City by 2030

US Government Warns Of Drought In The West!

Three weeks ago, the Obama administration made this dire warning :

Report: Climate change worsens Western water woes

By John Flesher (Associated Press) – April 28, 2011

Climate change is likely to diminish already scarce water supplies in the Western United States, exacerbating problems for millions of water users in the West, according to a new government report.

How Many People Would Have Died, Had Germany Listened To Hansen?

The trains carrying coal to power plants are death trains. Coal-fired power plants are factories of death. When I testified against the proposed Kingsnorth power plant, I estimated that in its lifetime it would be responsible for the extermination of about 400 species – its proportionate contribution to the number that would be committed to extinction if carbon dioxide rose another 100 ppm.

The German and Australian governments pretend to be green. When I show German officials the evidence that the coal source must be cut off, they say they will tighten the “carbon cap”. But a cap only slows the use of a fuel – it does not leave it in the ground. When I point out that their new coal plants require that they convince Russia to leave its oil in the ground, they are silent. The Australian government was elected on a platform of solving the climate problem, but then, with the help of industry, it set emission targets so high as to guarantee untold disasters for the young, let alone the unborn. These governments are not green. They are black – coal black.

Obama Says He Would Put On His Combat Gear And Do It Again

Obama reminds me of JFK on PT-109 – “Profiles in Courage”

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/22/barack-obama-pakistan-raid

Kennedy used his family influence to get into the war quickly. The Allies were in a campaign of island hopping since securing Guadalcanal in a bloody battle in early 1943. Kennedy was assigned PT-109 upon arriving at Tulagi. By August 1943, the Allies had captured Rendova and moved PT boat operations there. The US Army was driving the Japanese out of Munda airfield at New Georgia by August. All of the islands around Blackett Strait were still held by the Japanese.

At dusk on August 1, 1943, eighteen Japanese bombers conducted a raid on the PT base in Rendova harbor. One bomb struck two boats at dock, PTs 117 and 164, destroying both and killing two crewmen. After nightfall, Kennedy’s PT-109 was sent north on a mission through Ferguson Passage to Blackett Strait, as one of 15 boats sent to intercept the Tokyo Express.[5]

How Did Dinosaurs Survive Continual Climate Disasters?

Hansen says :

Clearly, if we burn all fossil fuels, we will destroy the planet we know. Carbon dioxide would increase to 500 ppm or more. We would set the planet on a course to the ice-free state, with sea level 75 metres higher. Climatic disasters would occur continually.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/feb/15/james-hansen-power-plants-coal

During the 160 million years when Dinosaurs ruled the planet, CO2 levels were much higher than 500 ppm. I have never heard any suggestion from any paleontologist that Dinosaurs  faced “continual climate disasters.”

The Early Cretaceous was a mild “Ice House” world.  There was snow and ice during the winter seasons, and Cool Temperate forests covered the polar regions.
