Fairbanks has been averaging about 16 degrees below normal this month, with an average high temperature of-13F. Only two days reached the normal high temperature.
My understanding is that Alaska is not part of Europe.

We are told that the climate science community is reliable and honest, and that they communicate through peer-reviewed research. Where are the peer-reviewed papers predicting that “loss of Arctic ice” would lead to very cold winters?
Several regulars on this site regularly raise the peer-review flag. Here is their chance to prove that climate scientists are not the scoundrels which they pretend to be.
We know that past winters were cold because of a lack of CO2, and current winters are cold because there is too much CO2. We also know that all weather is our fault and has our fingerprints all over it.
Given the incontrovertible evidence that evil humans made the weather cold (by making the earth hot) I was wondering how you tell the difference between -20C caused by CO2 and -20C caused by a lack of CO2. Do they make a thermometer which can tell the difference?

Tree hugger explains. Global warming makes non-existent record cold Arctic air hold more moisture. The Arctic has been warming out of control for decades, so the record cold air you think you are feeling doesn’t really exist, and even if it did – you are an insignificant pipsqueak on the planet compared to Moscow or Tuvalu.
High profile figures in the private sector and the United Nations agreed the urgency to reduce carbon emissions was such that business could not afford to wait for politicians to act.
Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, said at the CNN Earth’s Frontiers debate in Cancun, Mexico, that business should be “pulling governments along.”
She said: “The difficult thing is to balance two realities. One reality is the urgency of it, which science tells us and we can see and economics has already figured out, with the political pace with which governments can move.

But on either side of these cool blue pools are raging fires of orange, red and maroon: the temperatures in western Greenland, northern Canada and Siberia were between 2C and 10C higher than usual.

A few weeks ago, the state of Oregon issued the standard, totally predictable study – explaining how global warming was going to do all kinds of terrible things, including the tried and true “reduced snowpack” catastrophe.
Nature immediately responded with massive amounts of snow, and snowpack is now 130% of normal in Oregon.
