It is amazing how any new scientific discovery can be twisted by the press into some bizarre non sequitur about global warming.
In order to get climate legislation passed, it is essential to exaggerate or fabricate crises. A good example is Australia, which is widely reported by the MSM to be in an historic drought due to global warming.
The Australian BOM shows about 3% of the country in drought over the last three years. Meaning that 97% of the country is not having a drought.
Now let’s look closer at the numbers. Over the last 12 months, Australian rainfall has been 125% of normal, with most of the country above normal.

It has now been more than 750 days since any hurricane has made landfall in the US. This is one of the longest periods on record. Assuming that none do the rest of the current season, the quiesced period will almost certainly continue for at least 1,000 days.
The only three year period without hurricanes in US history was around the time of the Civil War.
It has also been 18 years since a category 5 hurricane struck the US.

Tamino describes the period since 1975 as the “period of modern warming” – implying that CO2 has altered the behaviour of the climate. But we can see in the HadCRUT Northern Hemisphere video above that the warming from 1910 to 1940 was nearly identical to the post 1975 trend. This in spite of the fact that CO2 levels were well below Hansen’s safe 350 ppm, and were rising very slowly.
This similarity in itself is enough to show that Hansen’s theories about 1980s warming are highly questionable.

Dr Andrew Baird of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies and James Cook Universities stated, “It is certainly the worst coral die-off we have seen since 1998. It may prove to be the worst such event known to science. So far around 80% of Acroporacolonies and 50% of colonies from other species have died since the outbreak began in May this year.”
He also added, “My colleagues and I have high confidence these successive ocean warming episodes, which exceed the normal tolerance range of warm-water corals, are driven by human-induced global warming. They underline that the planet is already taking heavy hits from climate change – and will continue to do so unless we can reduce carbon emissions very quickly.
Private Spaceflight May Worsen Global Warming

In the coming decades, soot released by the exhaust of rockets flying to space could contribute significantly to global warming, In this regard, the private space industry may become a large contributor to climate change.
Recent ads by the companies developing orbital and suborbital technologies say that, in a decade from now, this booming sector will carry out about 1,000 suborbital flights per year.
Using these numbers as a starting point, investigators looked at how this massive increase in space-related activities would impact the environment and the atmosphere.
Soot and carbon dioxide are the main gases that are produced when rocket launch to space today. Therefore, the research focused on the potential effect that these elements will have on the world over the next decade or so.

I unfortunately had to drive to Denver today, and on the way back accidentally turned on NPR.
Bill McKibben was talking about global warming and how conservatives were blocking it. I don’t have an exact quote, but he said something to the effect of “all atmospheric physicists and chemists agree.” Then he stated that there is “nothing conservative about doubling CO2. It is the biggest experiment ever performed“ and finally:
“The sooner that conservatives are willing to accept the science, the reality, the sooner we can get to work with their very important help in figuring out what set of prescriptions, what combination of market and regulation will be required in order to deal with the most serious problem we’ve ever stumbled into.“

I have figured out how this works in California. Unemployment is close to 15%, with eight counties having unemployment rates higher than 20%. 34% of California manufacturing jobs have been lost since 2001.
By keeping everybody unemployed and at home, they can reduce greenhouse gas emissions back to 1990 levels – which will make the Polar bears ecstatically happy.
