Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers who sail the seas about Spitzbergen and the eastern Arctic all point to a radical change in climatic conditions, with hitherto unheard-of high temperatures on that part of the earth’s surface.

Formerly the waters about Spitzbergen have held an even Summer temperature in the neighborhood of 5 degrees shove freezing. This year it rose as high as 28 degrees. Last Winter the ocean did not freeze over even on the north coast of Spitzbergen. This is on the authority of Dr. Noel.

The Arctic ocean Is growing much warmer, at least in certain parts. This has been confirmed by numerous scientific expeditions this winter. Spitzbergen is now free from all ice, and the permanent ice fields of the Greenland a have retreated 2.500 miles north of  Norway.

The gulf stream, a warm current of water which rises in the Gulf of Mexico and flows northeast across the Atlantic ocean to Europe. is hotter now than usual. Its heat is attributed to the excess of solar radiation which fell, on the earth in 1920, 1921, and 1922.

Temperatures passed 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit) in northern India as an unrelenting heatwave triggered warnings of water shortages and heatstroke.

So, almost as hot as 1953.

Last Sunday they were little puppies.

They are probably 50% bigger today, and their faces look much more mature.

They have moved to their summer den by the creek, but I found this deer leg by their old den. They have been eating well.

The last seven months was the coolest and wettest October-May on record in the US. The percent of days above 60F and 70F was the lowest, with 1933-1934 being the highest. Compare with 1934, which was the warmest and driest.

Average maximum temperature was second lowest after 1899.

NOAA predicted a warm winter with drought in the west, and got everything exactly backwards. Three month forecasting with climate models doesn’t work, but experts say they are superb at forecasting 100 years out – when no one will remember.

Warm winters tend to be dry, and cold winters tend to be wet. Unless you are a climate expert, and claim the exact opposite.

Climate experts say that the wet weather is caused by heat, but in 1988, NASA’s James Hansen predicted a huge increase in heat and drought. Apparently he believed that heat and drought go together.

If you liked last summer’s record temperatures, you’re going to love the 1990s, says James Hansen, the NASA scientist who, during congressional hearings on the Midwestern drought, linked greenhouse warming to the heat wave. Last summer was a preview of the average summer 10 years from now, and the hottest summers during the ’90s will be even hotter and drier than the one we just struggled through, he says.

If we do nothing to cut down on pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, temperatures in 2050 will be 6 to 7 degrees higher than they are today. Washington, D.C., for instance, would go from its current 35 days a year over 90 degrees to 85 days a year.

He got all of his forecasts exactly backwards.The number of hot days in the DC area peaked in 1911, and have been declining ever since.

The number of hot days in the Midwest peaked in 1936, and have been declining ever since.

The Midwest is getting wetter. The last really dry year in the Midwest was 1988, and recent years have been record wet.

Some years I go hiking the first weekend in June in the high country. Not a chance of that this year.

There is no longer any need for comedians.  We now have climate experts in Congress.

“Scientists say” all warming over the past 140 years was caused by CO2 emissions from humans and volcanoes. Natural variability no longer has any impact on climate.

This corresponds with the sudden and rapid increase in temperatures in 1880, after a millenium of steady cooling, as reported by Michael Mann 20 years ago.

Now we know the climate tipping point occurred in 1880 at 280 PPM CO2, and that the only way stop the world from burning up is to go back to a preindustrial lifestyle, and to put a plug in the volcanoes.

It is quite likely that the excessive use of rickshaws in 1880 caused the climate to heat up and warm out of control.

We have to get atmospheric CO2 back down to 279 PPM, to keep the world from burning up. And we need President Elizabeth Warren to communicate to the volcanoes that they must stop their evil activities. She believes that her people have a special connection to the Earth.
