Compare vs August 7, 2017, which had an average temperature of 81 degrees and less than 20% of the US over 90 degrees.

On this date in 1896, it was 115 degrees in Kansas and 102 degrees in New Jersey.

On this date one hundred years ago, there were 100 temperatures into New England, and it was an incredible 111 degrees in Ohio.
