Because -20 C in new year is a normal temperature in Moscow. All time record low is -40 C.
It going to be a warm new year in Scandinavia. Only -15 C !

It looks like anything other than record cold is the new ‘normal’ in global warming. Way below average cold is part of ‘global warming’. But even if it is record cold it’s part of ‘global warming too’.
So if 14 C below average is considered “normal”, then I take it that 14 C above average should be hand-wavable as normal too. I need to remember that…

Last summer the press was writing about weather because new record high teperatures were made in Moscow. Now the temperatures are nowhere near to the record low. Why should press write about usual temperatures?
Looks like it will be below -20 C next week in Stockholm, -20 C or worse happens, but in January or February, this early in the winter, that is new to me. The past 3 weeks were the coldest ever on record in several places in Sweden according to our national weather service.

You also ignored a response from Stephen informing you that the normal January 1 temperature in Moscow is about -6C, NOT your unsubstantiated claim that -20 C in new year (January 1?) is a normal temperature in Moscow. What’s your authority for that claim?
