How can that be? Hansen and McKitten have promised us that we could not possibly be at risk for hurricanes if we listen to them like good little children, not use gasoline and pay our carbon taxes.
An account of the August 1831 hurricane:
“BARBADOES IN RUINS.—By the arrival of the Hannah, from Antigua, we have received the melancholy information of a dreadful and destructive hurricane in the Island of Barbadoes, which occurred on the 16th of August. The number of killed is supposed to be not less than 6000 human beings,—the Island presenting a scene of devastation and loss unparalleled in the history of the West Indies. Every building has been blown down, and the inhabitants buried in the ruins.”
