BARBADOES IN RUINS.—By the arrival of the Hannah, from Antigua, we have received the melancholy information of a dreadful and destructive hurricane in the Island of Barbadoes, which occurred on the 16th of August. The number of killed is supposed to be not less than 6000 human beings,—the Island presenting a scene of devastation and loss unparalleled in the history of the West Indies. Every building has been blown down, and the inhabitants buried in the ruins.”
