NOAA is about to claim that 2012 was the hottest year ever in the US by a wide margin, but their date shows otherwise. If US temperatures average less than -2C for the rest of the year (which is quite likely) – then 1921 will remain the hottest year according to untampered GHCN HCN data.
The unprecedented rise in CO2 has cause so much warming that the poles are melting away forcing the cold from the strato… blah, blah, blah…

I believe that there are only 5 states in the continental US that have no snow cover.
61.1 percent of America had snowcover on XMas day. Don’t know if that’s a record – but it’s way over average.
