Yes, but sea ice only covers about 8% of the Earth’s surface. The other 92% is warming. đ
Only 92% warming?! gator, you are far to optimistic. 100% is warming, yes, even the sea ice. That is why the sea ice is expanding; things expand when the get warmer. If only you sceptics would learn science and be educated, then you would see how simple it is!
(I hope I don’t have to say that that was sarcasm. I wish I could say it was a parody of CAGW cultists, but I can honestly imagine one of them saying something that wacky. The sad part is that they would still be certain that they were saying something brilliant.)
I know they have said that both more and less sea ice (hurricanes, tornadoes snow, etc.) are consistent with a warming planet. Only no change in sea ice is consistent with a non-warming climate and even that is questionable!
The ice is masking the other 8%.

It is true that 2013 has seen an increase in sea ice compared with other more recent years, but still this has only knocked it up to the long term average, looking over the entire data set there is a clear downward trend.

Do you actually believe that a several million km^2 increase in global sea ice area is “cherry picking” ?

We could also pick 30th April and show that there was actually a decrease in sea ice level between 2012 and 2013.
Why not look at the interglacial?

It’s not the area of ice that matters, it’s volume. Oh, the volume is higher too? OK. It’s not the volume, it’s the thickness. Oh, that too? It’s the temperature. There’s more ice, but it’s warmer ice. That’s the ticket.
Global warming actually makes ice freeze at a higher temperature so the record ice extent at both poles is further proof of global warming.
And more proof is it snowing in Cairo for the first time in 112 years. Because the climate has changed (warmed) snow is just not melting on the way down from the clouds, so we get a foot of snow when it’s 70°f! Lol.
Poor ol’ aunt arctica. Nobody pays attention to her anymore since she gained all that girth. Looking into my NASA crystal ball (came in a box of Lucky Stars cereal) I see the same fate north of the arctic circle. Will melting glaciers make a comeback? Or is it time for the left to play their ace in the hole and focus on the unusual short amount of time it takes for an ice cube to melt in Leo Dicaprio’s cocktail?

As more heat accumulates in our climate, so too will more ice follow. Don’t believe me? Place a pot of water on your stove, turn up the heat and watch it freeze! IPCC redefined physics or haven’t yo heard.
Jason, actully the water molecule expands in both directions from its neutral state, grows about 7% by freezing and about 1500% by warming to steam.
