What is this liberal obsession with the Kochs?

  2. Kent Clizbe says:

“In the spring of 1928,…Stalin…began denouncing saboteurs – also called “wreckers.” In May 1928 a trial began against 53 engineers accused of sabotage. Reporters from abroad attended the trial. Twenty-two of the engineers were found guilty and sentenced to die. But, thanks to the benevolence of the Bolsheviks, only five were actually executed.”

Eerily similar to Obama’s demonizations, no?

I agree – and I think he’s positioning himself for an excuse as to why Obamacare failed. And, of course, the excuse really will be a variation on the “Trotskyites and wreckers” theme. (I also don’t think this is entirely conscious; people seem to be able to feel their way toward excuses like this without being aware themselves of what they’re doing.)

Since Martin wants to hang saboteurs, I take it he is threatening the Pretendident.

  4. tom0mason says:

Fletcher Christian and Martin Hertzberg have a lot in common.

    • rw says:

Do you mean Fletcher Christian or Captain Bligh?

      • tom0mason says:

Fletcher Christian was the self optioned leader and popularist who shirked hard work and wanted only the good life that Tahiti offered. He
ignored the good sense of Captain Bligh because Christian assumed that as he was from a ‘higher’ class he knew better. Captain Bligh worked he way up through the ranks, was a gifted and very able seaman, and was disliked by the establishment because he was from a lower class.

The Bounty’s log shows that Bligh resorted to punishments relatively sparingly. He scolded when other captains would have whipped, and whipped when other captains would have hanged. He was an educated man, deeply interested in science, convinced that good diet and sanitation were necessary for the welfare of his crew. He took a great interest in his crew’s exercise, was very careful about the quality of their food, and insisted upon the Bounty’s being kept very clean.

This ultra-sensitivity about defending Obama and his programs is typical of very many liberals for whom their political views are their deepest beliefs. That is, Liberalism is their religion, and they Believe because they want and need to Believe. So confronting the failure of their Cause is emotionally devastating to them – like finding out that their god doesn’t exist. Martin is a tormented soul, lashing out in frustration as his core beliefs are turning out to be just so much rubbish. Poor Martin . . .

:”Martin is a tormented soul, lashing out in frustration as his core beliefs are turning out to be just so much rubbish. Poor Martin . . .”

Yes, and fantasizing about hanging his enemies. Considering the level of hate and violence that Progressives seem to all carry about inside themselves, it is no wonder that they don’t think average people should own guns.

The only real difference between people like Martin and people like Charley Manson is opportunity.

  6. DGP says:

What is it with the progs and nautical metaphors?

  7. Larry Fields says:

For Martin, the sun is always past the yardarm.

  8. Justa Joe says:

Hold on… Hillary said that dissent was the highest form of patriotism. She must have meant descent.

  9. gofer says:

Why would anybody need to discredit something that is so messed up? It speaks for itself. You are supposed to just ignore the disaster and pretend everything is ok? Something is seriously wrong with him to make such a stupid statement that makes absolutely zero sense.

    • David A says:

The left is trained through repetition to discredit any conservative view. They have zero respect for the founding principles of the USA. They assume their political perspective is correct and educated. The live in an ivory tower, and get easily infuriated if you tell them this.
