Is it my imagination or is the Guardian becoming less tolerant of opposing views and censoring more comments? I must be on some secret enemies list of theirs as they didn’t publish my comment pointing out that it appears likely that environmentalists and anti-fossil fuel activists stuck in the ice will end up being saved by fossil fuels. I think the Guardian is sensitive to the fact that everyone has figured out that this unscientific Antarctic excursion was nothing more than another PR stunt like rowing to the Arctic and the Guardian activists masquerading as reporters have become a laughing stock.
Well spotted. So many are on pre-moderation it’s almost a sceptic-free zone. A couple of weeks ago one of the True Believers posted that there wasn’t as many sceptical comments from the ‘deniers’ – and that scepticism was therefore dying.
I answered that everyone was either banned or moderated into oblivion. At least I tried to; my post wasn’t even allowed to see the light of day, let alone published then deleted.
They’re highly sensitive these days as they know almost every indicator is falling against their pet theory.
This latest Antarctic episode is HUGELY embarrassing for them, especially as they’re headline sponsors. Pardon me while I go and laugh myself stupid.

Curious, it seems that the (smaller ice breaker) Snow dragon got within 6 nautical miles of the Shokalskiy, and the ( larger ice breaker) Australis now on the seen has only been able to achieve reaching a distance of 10 nautical miles from the Shokalskiy. Sounds like record ice expansion to me…. Pitty the folly of the global warmist expedition, the Shokalskiys frozen remains shall be encased in ice for the millennia.

i want to see them REALLY replicate Mawson’s voyage. I understand the Aussies generally refer to people rescued from the ocean as boat people. They usually take boat people to Christmas Island or Nauru for confinement until they are permitted to enter Australia.

So it’s a good thing after all that these serious men (and women) of science trekked to distant, hostile, Antarctica only to find, (actually confirm with actual observation) that yes, indeed, Antarctic ice is at a local maximum, and is growing. The courageous decision to stay in place to be enveloped by fast forming ice, a selfless act driven by burning scientific curiosity I’m sure, will only help to get the message out: Earth is cooling not warming! Just look at the southern hemisphere!
