Good Thing They Didn’t Have The Knockout Game In 1901

In New York yesterday the temperature was 103 deg. in the shade, or 3 deg. above the highest previously recorded, namely, 100 deg. In Pittsburg and Philadelphia many factories were closed, and the men were completely prostrated by the heat.  In these three and other cities thousands of persons sleep on the docks and in the parks, as it is quite unbearable indoors at  night.

In 1901 they didn’t play ‘games’ with thugs.

  2. If only we had listened when scientists began to tell us about global warming. Hugs, Barbara

    • gator69 says:

We listened, and those ‘scientists’ that blamed man were found to be incorrect. Beers, Gator.

      • Well, I deeply respect your opinions but there are many scientists who do believe in global warming. We, the human race are certainly causing the environment to be altered and effected by our choices and actions. Thanks for the opportunity for dialog. Peace and hugs, Barbara

        • gator69 says:

Billions of people ‘believe’ that Muhammad is the one and only true prophet. Millions believed Obama when he told them they could keep their health plans.

Beavers alter the environment, so do wolves, ants and flamingos. We are not an alien species.

I ‘know’ that AGW alarmists are causing unnecessary suffering and death for millions of innocent men, women, and children with absolutely no justification for their actions. Those killers are doing so because of misguided ‘beliefs’ and not due to sound science. Whose side are you on? The greedy grantologists, or the innocents being condemned to death?

Stick to hugs Barb, your grasp of science is too weak to embrace this subject.

        • Well I am not happy with the personal slap. Let us agree to disagree and we can discuss our opinions on a less personal level. I do not expect anyone to agree with everything I say. But we can express our opinions. Hugs, Barbara

Truth hurts Barb. So no hugs for the starving children. Nice choice.

Barbara, the entire western world is badly hurt by the “save the world” idealistic socialist and the success these rule the world “blackbeards” have so far had. Millions without jobs and in poverty, and it is only going to get far worse. I

Actually, it is the entire world, and third world countries suffer most. As Bjorn Lomborg discovered when doing research for his book ‘The Skeptical Environmentalist’, the money spent on climate alarmism is enough to ensure that we eventually feed, clothe, shelter and medicate every human on this planet.

“If you spend $3 billion over the next four years, you could save 100 million kids from malnutrition,” says Lomborg. “Of course, hunger is a bad thing. But it turns out that solving this has much bigger implications than just curing the terrible indignity of kids suffering pangs of hunger. Feed them properly and they’ll develop better both physically and mentally, they’ll stay longer in school, so they’ll learn more.” Lomborg cites the results of a program run in Guatemala in the 1960s, in which children from villages who were fed well were monitored against those from a different village who weren’t. The difference decades later is stark. “Better marriages, fewer kids, better educated, better jobs, but most importantly from an economist’s point of view, the better fed children now make three times more money,” he says. “If we can make that happen for 100 million kids over four years, that could very likely lead to a virtuous circle.”

Bu the Barbs of the world just want to agree to disagree, and starve children.

      • David A says:

Yes I understand The best most effective way to halt population growth and clean up real environmental problems, is to make energy cheep and abundant, and allow capitalism to work while protecting people from all forms of group power, religious, government, corporate, etc.
Barbara has no clue that I am a conservative because I believe in charity, which all centralist governments destroy.

        • gator69 says:

You could have said simply ‘Barbara has no clue’. 😉

I am a Libertarian, and this freedom of thought allows for questioning of authority, as well as reasoning out my personal responsibility to the world around me. Leftists are sheep.

  4. David A says:

Looked at your site Barbara. Sorry, but you are deeply brainwashed. Prove me wrong and make the argument against your own view on most anything. Start with guns. Can you make an intelligent argument against you liberal position? Can you make an argument against CAGW?
Do you know what the Oregon petition is? Do you know the arguments against the three deeply flawed studies that claim a 97% consensus on CAGW? Are you aware of the many research papers that refute all the castestrophic claims of dangerous global warming?
The hubris of the left is extreme, as exemplified in a quick reading of your site where you throw out continues straw man arguments, and regularly belittle and claim ignorance of those who disagree with you.

  5. Tom Servo says:

I believe your quotation from Mr. Feynman at the heading of this blog says it all with regards to the Al Gore Rhythm of “global warming”. You can always buy “scientific fact” with enough money. Observation have ceased being the foundation of inference, and scientific reasoning has simply become another convoluted mess of pragmatic philosophy.

I’m diggin’ this blog, by the way. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go dig my house out of a mountain of snow and ice – and here I thought the total CO emissions from these destructive decades of human existence would have made this a warmer winter.
