Bailing out “Detroit” brought Really Big Union money, and screwed over unorganized Kulak bond holders. It was a 2-fer for Emperor O.
Bailing out Detroit now is impossible after years of ongoing massive deficit spending and besides, it is now the next candidate’s problem. Obama needed their votes, he got their votes and now he leaves them in the lurch where they can vent their anger in the 2014 Mid Term elections.
Yep, the “Detroit bailout” was the UAW, not the actual residents of the city. The city is a prime example of liberal governance with a succession of terrible elected officials. This slide has been going on for decades.
I would say to level the place, but I think it’s best to let it finish falling apart on its own and see who recognizes it for what it is. Those who can’t see the writing on the wall are beyond help at this point and should be ignored. Those who realize there were serious issues there that are being repeated in other cities (and at the federal level) can still think rationally and are worth interacting with.
Basic laws of physics and economics don’t respond to any legislation or Dictatorial edict. Socialism leader inexorably to bankruptcy. Always has, always will.

I suppose it will be possible to bail out Democratic states so long as there are still Republican states around to fund such bail outs.
And still no charges of fraud or any form of recall. Totally corrupt, and nothing happens.
The last mayor is in jail for a long time.
Will Detroit not be able to buy one of their own cars for 7 years?

The communists love the Detroit story so much they are repeating it in NYC, Chicago, and a thousand other towns and cities across America.
