What’s the big deal? He has a mouth, a nose, two eyes, and two ears just like everybody else. Looks perfectly normal to me. You would never suspect he has ever ingested an experimental substance.
And even if he did, are we supposed to profile him? Isn’t that wrong?
Personally, I think he is just a gun nut. Those guys just love to shoot innocent people. It is endemic. Oh, wait a minute. That’s profiling.

Odd that we are not getting much info on this guy. But it is safe to say that if he were a member of the Tea Party, NRA or local Christian church, we would be hearing about him daily.
I see him as just one example (though with a higher public profile, obviously) of a general malaise: individuals pent up inside their, not generally drug-induced, but dogma-induced alternate realities. That man is laughing at you in the photo, and aggressively showing it (no, the eyes and mouth are NOT “normal”); he wants you to know that what is going on inside his head is really real, and you are all not, and he pities you, and maybe he’ll do something to make it plain to the world how little you all mean to him…(then you’ll be sorry, but it will be too late).

Does he have a history of using drugs that induced alternative reality feelings? Or is he trying to avoid punishment by using the crazy ploy? His actions after the shooting seemed much to pat to make me not suspect that his plan was to cop a mentally incompetent finding. Where his father works seems to be of little consequence.
