The graph below shows global land temperatures 2001 version (red) and 2013 version (blue) normalized to 1998. By massively cooling the past in their recent graphs, they report nearly double the amount of 1880-2000 global warming as they did 13 years ago.

Just a few notes. since you mentioned Dalton, who formed a very fundamental he was a humble school teacher with a grand vision.

It would appear that “adjustments” were well underway before 2001. It looks like the red line was already fraudulent. It’s just gotten worse.
So, now there has been warming in the past decade? Previous charts show no warming since 1998 now look again. Unbelievable.

Just to be sure, I checked the vertical distances between values on the ordinate of the graph.
They are consistent, unlike little tricks at skeptical science that Dana N. likes to pull.

I believe Tom Karl was the first to make all adjustments, except accepting the one for Heat island effect.
I have countered proclamations in public meetings. (at colleges or universities). Most admit that high temps were higher during the thirties. But values given are averages to which they make adjustments. The adjustments made in low (night) temps) are do to time of day, instrumental quality and the belief that night temps are currently higher due to water vapor feedback (The whole crux of the argument.)
However,satellite records and other records generally do not show an increasing relative or absolute humidity. When I present that information, I get silence, followed by some acknowledgement of being a denier.
Perhaps Steve might like to present the relative humidity record, It is one of the final arguments of the AGW team.

NASA must be crowded with honest men…are they nuderd ? Why dont they kick these folks outta there ?
It isn’t hard to say that “it’s worse than we thought”, when they have license to jack around with the data in this manner.
To understand NASA, you need to understand that the US NAS (the United States National Academy) controls it’s budget and uses that to prevent ordinary folks from knowing that a variable star (Sol) with an iron-rich interior and a pulsar core:
1. Made every atom in the solar system
2. Birthed the solar system five billion years (5 Ga ) ago
3. The heterogeneous supernova debris condensed into a planetary system that retained chemical and isotopic gradients of the original star.
[4. That is why a cross-section of Earth or a cross-section of the whole planetary system resembles a cross section of a pre-supernova star: Iron in the center, silicate mantles and outer layers rich in H, C, N ]
5. NASA and NAS have replaced the Inquisition and the Catholic Church at the start of the scientific revolution, the pair that almost succeeded in prosecuting Galileo for heresay.

The US NAS (the United States National Academy) controls the budgets of other federal research agencies, like the US DOE (Department of Energy).
NAS’ control over budgets of NASA and DOE promotes two falsehoods:
1. The standard solar model of H-filled stars, and
2. The standard model of “nuclear binding energy.”

1. In March 2001, the solar neutrino puzzle was solved with experimental measurements that confirmed the Sun’s iron-rich mantle [1] and pulsar core [2].
In August 2001, DOE lined up 178 co-investigators alphabetically to report [3] solar neutrinos oscillate away before reaching the detectors.
2. In 1995 NASA hid experimental data [4] from the Galileo probe of Jupiter that confirmed the iron-rich Sun [1].
